Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I have been here for lunch several times for business, but this time I chose Ca'Bianca for my mother's 80th birthday dinner with family. The service by everyone, not just our server, was very good. The room, cozy with quiet music playing in the background was a nice touch to the ambiance. The caesar was perfect -- not too much dressing and a single anchovy on top. The pollo was enjoyed by all who ordered it. I thought my salmone was near perfect. The only disappointment was that our food came out in waves for a party of eight. I was afraid that those that got served first would have a lukewarm entree. It turned out okay, but it was a little uncomfortable for a while not knowing how much longer it would take for the salmon raviolis to arrive -- which were raved about once they showed up. The evening was capped off with a nice surprise. They had noticed that my mother was celebrating her birthday (without my forewarning, I might add) and brought her a scoop of their homemade chocolate ice cream. I will be returning to Ca'Bianca.

Yelp shows why it rocks! We were beginning our drive through the Wine Country, starting in Santa Rosa and needed lunch. We drove by this place by accident as it blends in with the homes around it. It's an awesome unassuming place. We ate outside and admired their garden. The waitress was extremely nice. The bread that came out before the food was amazing as was the olive oil for dipping. They make their bread everyday and you can taste it. My wife and I ordered sandwiches and enjoyed their fresh bread. Stop by this little gem and eat some bread!

The food here is good but fairly average. However the ambiance is simply elegant, and service is attentive. The manager came to our table to talk with us about our meal, which impressed me. This is great for intimate and fancy affairs (engagement announcements, family dinners, dates, et cetera).

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. We wanted to go somewhere casual and good. This place reminded me of Stockyard in Nashville, how the rooms were divided in an old house type. Server was great, very nice and accommodating. Bread, wine was good. My hubby had the filet and it was sooooo good, I had the seafood ravioli, it was okay....could be better, but I was hungry. My martini was too strong for me... Salad was good. Atmosphere was good, price was good, so in the end I had a good time. I would've given it a 4 if my cocktail and ravioli were better.... :(
(3)Brendan S.
I had a pasta with a basalmic cream sauce, which is so far beyond delicious, there's no superlative I can think of to describe it. The service is very good. This restaurant is literally an old house with lots of ornate Victorian features, so a pleasantly unique atmosphere.

Loved the food and atmosphere.

My husband and I took a friend here a few weeks ago. It was our first time, and it was a perfect choice! I had a caesar salad and a pasta dish with mushrooms and scallops and both were fantastic! My husband had the duck ravioli and loved it. We each had a different dessert and all were fantastic (especially mine, which was homemade cinnamon gelato with apple crisp)!!!! Yum. We will definitely be back soon. The atmosphere was very classy and romantic and the service was great too.
(5)Fabian P.
We had a very nice lunch here. Supper nice atmosphere and great food.

Come for the beautiful, quiet & intimate, although comfortable, setting. We love that their delicious homemade pastas are available in 2 sizes, so for our "light" supper we chose the "signature" gnocchi in gorganzola sauce and the pasta bolognese, both wonderful! Service was great too. Would definitely come back and recommend it to friends.
(5)Jean S.
If you don't eat here you will be missing out on the best food you have ever tasted! We had the following: Clam and Osyter appetizer, Ceasar Salad, Gnocchi w/ lamb meat sauce, and Breaded Pork Chop with Italian salsa.. Everything was OUTSTANDING!!! The building is beautiful with the outside gardens where you can sit and have your dinner... Enjoy

The wine-tender at Ravenswood Winery recommended this place. We went on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is a quaint white house with much character. Warm and intimate ambiance. The food was very good but not great. Excellent service.
(4)Ken L.
We had a great dinner with a party of 7. Everything was terrific from the appetizers to the dessert. I think just about everyone in our party ordered something different, and all the meals were excellent. This was one of the best restaurant that we've enjoyed compared to the restaurants we dined in Healdsburg in our 4 day wine trip.

We couldn't figure out what we wanted for dinner let alone where we should go the night we stayed in Santa Rosa. We finally settled on Ca' Bianca and I'm so glad we did. It was delicious. The restaurant has a warm, rustic feel to it which paired well with the friendliness of the staff. The wine list was broad and very, very reasonably priced. I started with the Prosciutto e Melone which was really good. The presentation may have been a little sloppy but it was made up for by the taste. My bf had a salad which he enjoyed a lot as well. For our entrees, my bf ordered the pork chop special. He was inadvertently brought the pork chop from the main menu. He didn't realize the mix up until he was almost done eating but he enjoyed it nonetheless. I had the parpadelle with chicken. I am not sure why I ordered it being that parpadelle is one of my least favorite pastas. But, it was perfectly cooked. And, the chicken and the sauce were excellent. The hour we spent hemming and hawing over where to have dinner was worth it!

We were looking forward to eating here for a friends 30th birthday we had a large group of 18 and had a private dining room. The birthday girl had made the reservations and asked that we have the full menu for our meal. They gave us an abridged menu and did a pour job making our group feel welcome. The food was decent, but not worth $10 for a caprese salad and $18 for rigatoni. My fiance and I were happy we shared. The birthday girl ordered the fettuchine with clams, presented nicely but lacked flavor & character, it needed more acidity and herbs. The bread and olive oil was excellent though. The panna cotta was the best part of the meal. Pour service, un impressive food and an unhappy birthday girl really gave the evening a sour finish. We all agreed that the almost $90 in gratuity that our waiter made was far more then we wished to give him. There are many better choices for Italian in Sonoma county, we will be giving them our business instead of Ca'Bianca

What a fantastic experience! We are visiting Wine country and thought we would try this place based on previous reviews. We were floored with the quality of service and the wonderful food. The restaurant is in a restored house with large rooms which are carpeted and the tables are spaced well and noise is minimized. We ate inside but the outside tables on the porch were very inviting with the scent of flowers from the garden. The salads (I had the spinach salad and my wife had the avocado salad) were excellent. We chose the lamb shank and the special sea bass and they were superb. The menu has pasta, including gluten free, and I wanted the try the Ravioli with butternut squash but I did not want two entrees and they were very kind to bring me a sample (scrumptious) and didn't even charge me. The dessert Torte and Canoli were and appropriate ending to a great meal. The manager and the waiter were very personable and authentic from Italy. I would highly recommend this place

My husband took me here for our 10th wedding anniversary and I have to say it could not have been more perfect! Thank you Ca'Bianca
(5)Julia B.
I'm kind've obsessive about this place. I ate some of the most astounding Italian I have had in a very long time here. Found it via a pourer at the Ravenswood Vineyard in Sonoma who was so insistant upon my boyfriend and I having dinner here that he called to make us a reservation! He was definitely on to something. Have the mussels for an appetizer and seriously consider the gorgonzola gnocchi. It is very simple but it is TO DIE FOR. Our waiter was just lovely and the owner, Marco, came over to make sure we were satisfied. The restaurant even treated us to some free Limoncello when we told him our only complaint was that we were totally stuffed!
(5)Tara S.
I went here for the first time on Feb. 15...and it was amazing!!!!! The service was excellent and the wine that they recommended was totally what i wanted!!!! The food was great, very flavorful and fresh! I would totally go back if i was ever in Santa Rosa again...
(5)Angie S.
Here's the breakdown: made a reservation via OpenTable and noted that it was for the fiancee's birthday- part of his surprise weekend getaway. Street parking, beautiful old victorian house, great bar, nice people (employees and patrons). Had an amazing homemade parpadelle, wild mushroom, free range chicken dish...to die for. The fiancee was impressed with the antipasti, entree, and wine (Cab from Paso Robles). Our server brought out a tiramisu topped with a candle- great little touch. Impeccable customer service. The owner stopped by to ask how everything was and thought I'd been there before- the answer was no, but I'll definitely be back!

Ca'Bianca came recommended by various web sites and my iPhone app UrbanSpoon. My wife and I had company from out of town that happened to be vegetarian, so Italian seemed like a safe place to go for all. My first impression was that Ca'Bianca takes pride in its image, it's a very well kept Victorian home that is very tastefully set up as a restaurant. It has the traditional white tablecloths and mood lighting - actually a great place for a romantic date. The food prices are very reasonable, and the food itself hits the bulls eye when looking for upscale Italian. I wish my portion would have been bigger - but my wife's portion was good. I tasted some of everyone's food and being a picky foodie, this place is a winner! Service was great - and the deserts were incredible. My wife fell in love and I will definitely come back.

I love this place. I take my girlfriend here from time to time and the food, while a little pricey is fantastic. The house and decor of the place is a bit dated but I dont really mind because it doesnt put you off. The first time I went there I got a steak, medium rare and a tasty pinot. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich. The sides were great. I got what I paid for and I was delighted. The second time I went I ordered the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and the sides complemented the dish wonderfully. The only glitch was our waitress who tried to charge us for extra wine, which was amended. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely be back and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet fine dining experience.

Wife and I went here for dinner. Great wine list and really great service. They have Turley on the wine list; which I love! Wife had steak and I had a pasta dish. Food was good but not great. 4 stars is for the wine, service & ambiance. Owner and server were really friendly and helpful. Great wine!

We had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced meal. The wait staff was outstanding and the food was good.

We studied the menu online before coming here and had settled on what we wanted. However, when we arrived, the menu at the restaurant was drastically different. I ended up ordering risotto, with cheese soup to start. That sounds really heavy, but I knew I'd rarely come back to this area, and those two items piqued my interest. The cheese soup was quite good, with various garnishings that went well with it, but it was too rich for me to finish. The flavors in the risotto were amazing, but the texture was just okay. It didn't have the usual melt-in-your-mouth aspect. The flavor was so good that it made up for it, and I did enjoy my meal immensely. My husband had a beef dish slow-cooked in a wine sauce. He thought it was terrific. He said it reminded him of beef bourguignon, so I excitedly took a bite, but I didn't care for it. We had the creme brulee for dessert. It had an orange flavor and was garnished with some fresh orange. It was fine but nothing spectacular. All in all, if we lived in the area, we would return. But since we're rarely there, I'll find a different place to try out the next time we're in Santa Rosa.

This can be a place to come for a nice dinner and get dressed up or if you just feel like a treat. We have been here a few times, all of them delicious, and the first time we went for dinner was on New Years and we were dressed very casual. We received really wonderful service and even recognition from the manager on duty. We have never had a bad experience, the food and the ambiance are always lovely.
(4)david c.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world and I always try to make it out here every time I come through wine country. You can not find a cuter restaurant as it is a converted Victorian house with amazing charm. The homemade gnocchi with Gorgonzola is one of my favorite pasta dishes outside of italy. Ask the waitstaff what they recommend because they are always helpful. This is one of those amazing date places that won't break the bank. Highly recommended.
(5)Caryn N.
Love this restaurant! The ambiance is the best. Marco and his staff are always welcoming, the service is excellent and the food is outstanding. Its always my first choice for a leisurely dinner with friends. On our last meal we had the cannelloni and the lamb shank with polenta. Both were superb.
(5)Shannon D.
My first experience was at a friend's wedding hosted here. They were fantastic with delicious appetizers and were very kind even when my husband accidentally knocked over his wine glass breaking it on the floor. The rose garden was beatiful. My second experience involved delicious food and the most snobby service I experienced in years. Apparently we weren't dressed fancy enough. The host looked down his nose with mock shock at our attire. The staff acted annoyed when we ordered mixed drinks instead of wine. At the end the butler set down a tab in a folding leather binder and opened it then looked me in the eye with a look like a sneer and said "this is too much for your party huh? This one is obviously more suited to your group." Then he left and gave the first tab to another table. At this point we decided we didn't care what they thought and we set down a credit card for each person and told them to split it to give a little back at them. Both of these experiences are a couple of years ago but I'm only getting into yelp now. I don't know what to make of these polar opposite experiences but I say I think I will stick to Nonnie's with their sweet family atmosphere and the best Gorgonzola gnocchi of my life.
(3)Dominique K.
This restaurant is in an old Victorian house. The ambiance is fantastic. The food and beverage selection is fantastic and I have never been disappointed by anything on the menu. The service is always attentive but not annoyingly so. This is a great spot for dinner out with friends or a date.
(5)Bob K.
I searched for a place to eat with my date Friday night and was originally going to go with steak but that morning steak wasn't on my plans. I researched yelp and came up with Ca'Bianca. Looked good on the website so we went for it and I am fan!. Nice ambience, drinks and food. The carpaccio just melted in the mouth. I had the duck and it was excellent. She had the spinach crepes and they were good too. Service was excellent and the price was right.
(4)Anne B.
Hmm-couldn't decide on a three or four star rating for this place. I would probably recommend it to someone who is looking for a romantic place to have dinner since it is a really cool setting. But not sure the food justifies the prices. When you walk in you feel like you are at someones house to dinner. We went there for dinner on a Thursday night and it was pretty crowded, although the acoustics were so good that it never got too loud in there. Service was excellent -they were very attentive and never let the water glasses get empty. I had the Insalata Caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes which was great. For the entree I had the salmon. The piece of salmon was huge but also good. My dinner mates enjoyed their pasta as well, but the plates were so huge there was no room for the desert -which looked REALLY good. All and all worth a visit as long as you are okay with spending some moola.

Over priced Underserved and Short Changed! I was not impressed and was short change. The service is fair and design is immaculate but the food is hit or miss I ordered the Antipasto di Mare appetizer when the order came we found that there was no scallops in our dish when it was mention in the menu. 4 oz of greens toped with 4 shrimp and several calamari tentacles $9 Dinner my wife order Stuff chicken breast with mozzarella prosciutto wrapped in a puff pastry on top of a béchamel sauce. The Menu never mentioned mushrooms witch my wife is allergic to. She later became sick. $21 I had pork loin with a port reduction and gorgonzola the flavors was ok there was very little port sauce and seem like I was only giving 4 oz of meat, 4oz of veggies, and 4 oz of scalloped potatoes shavens and stacked like a neat triangle there was a sliver of a roasted pear on top of the loin. $23 I did order dessert that was chocolate mousse with biscotti $9 The mousse was very rich and delicious but very small serving 4tbsp you get more from an Applebee's dessert shooter $1.99. The biscotti tasted great as well but the size was 3 inches by 1 cm no joke very disappointed. 2 Glasses of wine 9oz each $18, Porto 20 years aged 5oz $10, Want go back there again
(2)Chris H.
Honestly, the food was above average but, for me, the atmosphere made this a sleeper. With the great food of this area, I would not go back.
(3)Jenny R.
Totally yummy! Very comfy and inviting. Food was very fresh tasting, service was excellent, and prices were definitely affordable. There is something on the menu for everyone, kids too.
(4)Maglyn l.
My friends hosted a surprise party for me at Ca'Bianca last December. t We were in a private room upstairs that seated about 13 people plus a couple of kids. The waitress was very sweet and patient with us - she offered noodles with butter for the kids. (I think if was free, but I'm not sure since I didn't see the bill). The food was great - everyone loved their dishes. The atmosphere was like being in someone's dining room at home.
(4)Jim L.
A beautiful, fully-restored Victorian mansion serves as the setting for one of the finest restaurants in Santa Rosa. They have a great private room for parties, and the catering is quite good. Really nice wrap-around front porch with tables for casual summertime dining and wine swilling. One note on parties though; they had guaranteed us two servers, but the servers were really nowhere to be seen, and we had to do all the wine serving ourselves. For that, they lose one star.
(4)Donnell C.
Good food and nice atmosphere. Would have liked to have salad served as a side with the pasta rather than having to order it separately at an additional $20 for my husband and self. Still the pasta was good and we would go back again for a quiet dinner get away.
(4)Daniel G.
We were dining with friends in Santa Rosa and chose this with the help of you Yelpers. Thank you! Ca' Bianca turned out to be the old victorian Marshall House. I grew up in Santa Rosa, but had never been inside. It was beautifully maintained. It was busy on a Monday night. We had no reservations, but were graciously seated at a great table in front of the beautiful fireplace. The service was very attentive. When I rejected a too warm/spoiled bottle of wine, a new cool bottle was produced from the cellar and was excellent. Three of us had the sole special. It was great. The other member had the pasta and enjoyed it immensely. My wife and I shared a white and dark mouse with tasty biscottis. We were treated to complimentary limoncellos. It was the best limoncello I ever had. The Monday manager was Carlos, a winemaker from Chile. They are so lucky to have him. He acted as if it was his own restaurant and zipped around making sure everything worked. I look forward to returning.
(5)Alex S.
I recommend making reservations, especially any weekend night. We ate in the bar but the food was very, very good. My steak was well prepared and my girlfriends pork loin was delicious! The beef carpaccio was awesome....I compare it to the carpacio at Olives in the Bellagio.
(4)Kimberley C.
A beautiful family owned place for every occasion. But for intimate day time weddings of under 100 people this is hands down the best location in the larger Bay Area. Food is very good (not amazing, but priced appropriately), wine is great, service and attention are brilliant. If you want to be treated like a king, queen for the day without breaking the bank, this is it. They can even set up a dance floor! Just plan an after party somewhere local if you want to continue through the night.
(5)Juan C.
I have been to this place twice and they have been exceptional both times. First time I ordered a Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce which I didn't like (no offense David), and the owner noticed I wasn't touching it. He kindly asked if I wanted something else and comp'd the new meal. Now that's customer service!!!! The food is very very good and the ambiance is romantic. A definite recommendation to those looking for excellent customer service and some good Italian food.
(4)Vince G.
I just picked Ca Bianca for the Bohemian's "Best of" so I thought I'd write a review. To let you know how highly I think of this restaurant let me tell you that I proposed to my wife here. It's very romatic. The food has been exquisite on each visit. The waitstaff are polite and not intrusive. The dining areas are cozy and it kind of makes you feel like you have your own private space no matter where you sit. I honestly believe their bar is one of Sonoma County's best kept secrets. The bartender is great, the ambiance is old school-elite(although casual in reality) and there is a nice deck to sit on if you want to enjoy a nice summer evening with a drink. Also, a note that Ca Bianca has an unnoficial "sister restaurant" in Noe Valley in SF called Bacco( yelp.com/biz/7yYLaUjI5cF… ), that is just as excellent, although lacking Ca Bianca's awesome setting.
(5)Ricky S.
I had dinner at Ca'Bianca on a recent Friday night. Not sure why, but it was much quieter than I had expected, with just a couple of parties dining in the large wood-floored room. My party had a nice table by a window, but the ambiance stopped there. The other party in the room was a party of about 6 who probably didn't mean to be annoying, but managed to do so anyway. Surely, if the room had been filled a little more, the situation would have been better. As it was, I couldn't help hearing every single thing that they said, and unfortunately, most of it was politically and/or religiously charged. Ugh. No complaints, however, about the food. Menu was a little limited, but everything we had was fresh, tasty and as advertised. I liked the wine list- it had a lot of choices with different styles and price points, some of which were pretty reasonable. Overall, it was good, but not quite the fantastic experience I'd read about on some others' Yelp reviews.
(3)Clara E.
Wonderful romantic place (in fact most people we saw there were probably on dates). The atmosphere was relaxing, the music at a perfect level, and the service was spot-on. My boyfriend took me there at the end of a very romantic day (beach, farmer's market, and wine shops). We both were dressed up and felt right at home. I highly recommend making a reservation. Part of our reason for choosing this restaurant was to find a place to take our parents when they first meet each other. We had tried several other places in Santa Rosa...but we are now sold on Ca' Bianca. The appetizers were beyond amazing. He had the carpaccio and I had the avocado salad (you MUST try it). Both were prepared perfectly. Next we shared a bowl of the night's soup (a potato, leek, and mushroom puree). It was divine. We scraped the bowl clean with delight. The entrees were a slight mixed bag, as the gnoccietti were a bit on the bland side for him and my fettucini bolognese was a bit overcooked. We both agreed however, that the starter dishes had raised our expectations a little high. The waitstaff was very attentive and very prompt with service. You must at least try this wonderful gem. UPDATE: So, last night, at the dinner with our parents, my boyfriend proposed to me. The food was great. The service was beyond compare. And the atmosphere was perfect. Updating to five stars.
(5)Hayley L.
Went here on Valentine's day, the perfect place for our date. Beautiful restaurant and amazing desserts. The service was also excellent. Given the luxurious surroundings, I was slightly disappointed to see that the food was merely decent. However, I will definitely be going here again!
(4)kristen E.
One of my all time favorite places to go with my BF. Romantic ambiance and delicious food makes the entire experience special.
(3)Greta Z.
I joined my daughter and her family at Ca'Bianca to celebrate my birthday. I had a desire for real Italian food and something special. It fit the bill perfectly. Service was exceptional and the food delicious and prepared perfectly. The view from the window into the beautiful front garden was delightful and even kept my grandsons occupied and subdued! A sweet, peaceful ambiance added to the enjoyment of the evening.

This place is a tad hard to find, it's in what looks like a house. Maybe because it was after a long day of wine tasting, but I'm glad we found it. The wait staff was very attentive. We were fairly low maintenance and I think that surprised them. We only asked for water, and I'm pretty sure other people ask for cocktails, liquor, coffee, or other drinks. :) The Raviolini was great, I had never had raviolini with a balsamic vinegar reduction sauce, and wow, it was good. My girlfriend had the gnocchetti, she liked that, her brother had seafood risotto, and he liked that too. He especially liked the baby octopi in there. The desserts were awesome. i had the tiramisu and almost didn't want to share. My girlfriend had the triple chocolate mint sponge cake type thing, and her brother had traditional sicilian dessert that was like a dessert lasagna. Those were both fantastic.
(4)susannah c.
I just love this place. A beautiful place to eat. A family run business in which you will enjoy delicous italian food at a reasonable price.
(4)M K.
Warm ambiance, very good food and pleasant, helpful wait staff. This is one of the nicer restaurants I've been to in Santa Rosa. (And it's not expensive.) It's on a par w/ good neighborhood restaurants in San Francisco, where we live. As other reviewers have said, the portions are large, so be prepared to take food home. A special note: another reviewer (who called himself a "hippy" raked this place over the use of styrofoam take-out containers. The restaurant now uses eco-friendly paper-based ones. Dessert lovers: one Ca Bianca diner said the chocolate cake was the BEST she'd ever eaten. She said it several times, in fact. We will go here again
(4)Mike I.
I agree with the review of the location. It is a nice, homey, victorian style mansion converted into a restaurant in a neighborhoody section of downtown. I think the food is average and certainly not the best Italian in Santa Rosa. The food at Orsi's on Fith St. is better.
(3)Janet D.
My friend and I had been hoping for gourmet pizza, but instead found more upscale Italian fare. We loved the beautiful setting in an old Victorian home. My friend - the wine drinker - said the wine list was impressive. My first test of a restaurant is the bread...the bread here was a delicious lightweight ciabatta, not the very best I've had, but definitely up there at the top. Our Caesar salads were delicious - whole romaine leaves with a light dressing, homemade croutons, and one (removable) slice of anchovy. My main dish - the pappardelle with chicken - was good, not outstanding or very memorable. We were quite excited about the carmelized apple puff pastry for dessert...but, we only found one little slice of apple in our last two bites. Pretty disappointing. Overall, I'd say our meal was very good, not great...if I would return to a restaurant again in a town full of restaurants, it earns a 4 or 5 star. That's why this one only got a 3 star...it's doubtful I would return for another go-around while just visiting Santa Rosa. If I lived here, I would give it several more chances.
(3)Darla B.
This is a wonderful Italian restaurant for all seasons. It is in the beautiful Victorian Home of the former Marshall House, and just a few blocks from the center of Santa Rosa. We have dinner or lunch there on a regular basis, and never tire of it. We have spent Christmas Eves, our 50Th wedding anniversary, a luncheon for friends and family, Mother's Day, and just plain going out to have a good dinner. It's a great place to entertain friends, too. Their menu items are homemade, fresh, and delicious.. The owners Marco and Karin are friendly, helpful people and do a great job of taking care of their customers.. This is our all-time favorite restaurant in Santa Rosa, and we have lived here in Santa Rosa for many, many years.
(5)John W.
very good old fashioned and authentic family run Italian restaurant in a nice old Victorian house. Good food, great service and ambiance at a fair price.
(4)jeremy d.
What a refreshing change from the overpriced over hyped restaurants of the Napa and Sonoma area. This is not the big showy attention grabbing kind of place. They seem to choose simple as a theme and execute it flawlessly. From the outside this place looks like compelling and inviting. When you enter it seems like you have stepped into a different world. The main dinning room is minimally lit and nicely accented with candles. There is a veranda type eating area off of the main room and some outside seating as I was told but I never actually could find it. The walls and decorations are very subdued but fitting. This is a very romantic setting and not very suitable for a big family blow out or small kids. Wine list is what you would expect in a Sonoma: overpriced and full of choices. What really got me about this place is the menu. It all looks so good and the prices actually make it feel like your not getting taken advantage of. I think the most expensive item on the menu was $35, compared to the same food at John Ash or Syrah for around $45 but served without all the pretentious baggage. We ordered the Antipasto(highly recommend) Spinach salad(good but a little on the salty side) Stuffed chicken breast in puff pastry shell(very good) Chicken with spinach and caramelized onions(very good also) the sauces were creamy yet light and very tasty we ordered the tangerine chocolate cake and it was right on. The food and service is top rate with the romantic setting is icing on the cake I would recommend this place to anybody who wants a fancy night out without having to drop $300 on dinner for 2. With drinks, salads, appetizer, main courses and desert it came out to be a little over $100

DELICIOUS pasta, we had the smoked salmon stuffed raviloi and almond crusted sea bass. The cocktails were okay, and the desserts very rich. They have an excellent selection of dessert wines and after-dinner drinks. We spent $100 including tip for salad, entree, dessert, and drinks for two. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and attentive - we came without a reservation on graduation night, but they sat us anyway for dinner and asked us to move to the bar for dessert, and gave us some free drinks. Some people were sitting outside on a porch, the interior has large classical paintings. A great place for a date.

This place looks like a B & B, but only a couple blocks from downtown Santa Rosa. Pretty standard northern-italian fare, but well done. The standards are all there and the cream sauses avoid that tendency towards overly heavy. Decor is nice and a bit fancy, though the bar is wood paneled and very cozy. The service is excellent.

My boyfriend and I dined here for a special vacation dinner. The setting is in an incredibly and loving restored Victorian house, that set the mood. The food was fantastic. The portions were extremely generous. They had no problem splitting a dinner portion gnocchi for the two of us as a pasta course. In addition they had the class to not charge us a fee to split the pasta. They served the largest lamb shanks I have ever seen. (They must have seen we're both serious body builders who consume large quantities of protein.) The wine selection ranged from reasonable to very special occasion in price. We had a reasonably priced bottle which was an excellent local selection. As to the people who complained that they were not well received with their children, I can't imagine what made them think of bringing children to this restaurant. If you can afford this restaurant, you can afford a baby sitter. It's not a quiet restaurant, but it's an adult noise. There are restaurants that are for adults only, and this is one of them.

There were 6 us, we were there for a birthday dinner. We were seated promptly, bread and water were brought out...and then we waited....about 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken...5 minutes later our drinks came out, after the drinks came out for the table that arrived 5 minutes after us? Waited....waited ..waited, it had to be 15-20 minutes before our appetizer order was taken, the other table had theirs delivered as out order was taken...I wanted to order entree's at the same time and the waiter actually told me to wait until we finished the appetizer...really? Arguing with me as to when to order? I've never heard that before...I was annoyed at that. We didn't place our dinner order until AFTER the appetizers were finished and the plates cleaned off the table. had I been alone with my partner, i would have left at that point. We arrived at 6:25, left at 9:00. I'm all for lingering over a meal...but really.. The food was fantastic! The busboys were fantastic Gerardo, our waiter...seemed to be ignoring us, almost like he didn't want to be bothered with us. And you really shouldn't argue with a customer who has already been waiting close to a half hour to order food. I'll definitely go back...just hope the service is a bit better next time Food is 5 stars Ambiance is 5 stars

The service is great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We have been here multiple times and have tried a lot of their food. The good: Carbonara Skipper: salmon and dill cream sauce Pork Marsala Gnocchi Gorgonzola Carpaccio Caesar What needs improvement is the clam pasta. Everything about it was good, except for the clams. Some tasted weird, some had too much sand (must have been missed in the cleaning process). Maybe they should reconsider the type of clams used. But all in all it was a great meal and an excellent restaurant.

We would have loved to have dined here but was told it would have been 1 1/2 he wait because they just sat a party of 30. Beautiful place but not accommodating !

I recently ate here with one of my friends and the setting is very beautiful and historic. Our waiter was kind. The food was pretty tasty as well! I definitely liked the delivery of the food. Now I'm craving for some more.
(4)Katie Ann L.
The food was WOWWOWWOW! I was traveling through wine country and have to say that this is a MUST DO while you're there. It's too good to miss! I had the cantaloupe & prosciutto appetizer and the pesto sauce they spread across it was just amazing - not really pesto-y but just enough. The whole dinner was fab, wine was good (of course!). I think anything off the menu will just be great. I only had an app and a dinner special myself, but everyone at the tables around me seemed just as pleased. One family at a neighboring table were regulars, so definitely a great choice for travelers or locals!

Ca Bianca is one of the very best restaurants we've visited in Northern California. The setting is gorgeous in a large old Victorian house with a beautiful garden with a fountain out front. We dined out on the front porch where the ambiance is quiet and tables are very separated. It's just a beautiful, romantic setting. We looked at the inside dining room and it too was just beautiful. Large groups appear to be totally separated from other diners wanting a more subdued atmosphere. We both had the Prawns and Scallops. Simply delicious in a subtle sauce with tasty black rice. Service was great and we never felt rushed or ignored. Prices were very reasonable for such a wonderful dining experience.

Came in for dinner on Sonoma County restaurant week. Had a very good dinner and service was good too. The decor was Victorian and yet the food was Italian, go figure.
(3)Rusty V.
Love Ca Bianca....located in one of Santa Rosa's finest old victorian homes, this place has ambiance. The good Italian food is a plus.
(4)Brett R.
Lovely environment. Food is creative and well done;especially their fish dishes. Wait staff well trained
(4)Rachael S.
Had a fantastic dinner here. Great ambience, excellent service from James, and the food was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other things on their menu. They also have a welcoming bar area if you just wanted to stop in for a drink or glass of wine.
(4)Daniela J.
Ambience is great! Very cute old Victorian house setting with quick friendly service. We had the raviolini and the gnocchi. The raviolini was great. I would have liked if the gnocchi wasn't in a meat sauce. The flourless chocolate cake was also delicious and rich
(4)Joyce B.
Italian dining at its finest! From the unique Victorian home setting, to the amazing food and service, this place is a must go!! We take friends, family and even co-workers for ambience that allows for easy conversation, relaxation, and satisfied palates. The wine is list is superb in addition to their fresh made daily dishes, bread and desserts. Our waiters are friendly and attentive to detail. We've never leave disappointed whether we are a party of 3 or 13! You really must go find out for yourself how wonderful this place is!!

Loved the meal - I had the Lamb Shank, my friend had the NY Steak - both were delicious, but the lamb shank was the ultimate meal for my birthday. I was glad to have Damien as our server, he was perfect, engaging, knowledgeable without being overbearing - superb service and food down to the bread served. We started at the bar and the barkeep has this really odd looking beard with no personality. Then the owner came out, a good looking man, but then also had a negative presence - so we hurried to the table and everything from there on out was exquisite. I Highly recommend this place. We went a bit early around 6:30pm and the place was quiet on a Thursday evening. I imagine a bit later is more interesting and upbeat.
(5)Mary L.
Really sweet atmosphere. One of the most charming in Santa rosa for sure, the pollo dish was good. Will definitely go back!
(4)Roger C.
Very nice location in an 1876 Victorian in Downtown Santa Rosa. It is elegant with beautiful decor including original chandeliers in the main dining area. This is where you can go for a romantic diner or special date. We had started with the Burrata and argula appetizer which was fresh and delicious. Then we ordered the Wild Salmon with potatoes gratin on the regular menu and Chicken crepes filled with spinach as a special. Both dishes were well prepared with the Salmon both flaky and moist not dry or over cooked. The desserts were sublime. The Panna Cotta was the best we have had outside of North Beach. We will definitely return for our next romantic night out.
(5)Tom S.
Tasty Italian food. Northern Italy recipes. Which means emphasis on a meat entrée with 2 sides. Full bar at the entryway. Located in a historic Santa Rosa home. Ca' Bianca = White house. Decorated in early 20th century style. Great service, attentive and professional.

I had been looking forward to Restaurant Week for over a month, and when I finally got the chance to go out to dinner at one of the restaurants participating I jumped at the chance. I chose Ca'Bianca on a whim, it had been a few years since I had been there and it had always gotten great reviews from a friend. We should have known better then go there when we were told how long the wait would be, AFTER we requested two high chairs. Despite this, a friend and I dared to venture out for a nice dinner with our one year olds in tow. We get there and shortly, with less than a five minute wait (funny how the wait suddenly disappeared when we could witness the empty tables), are escorted into a back room. The atmosphere was nice, dimmer lights, candles at the table and attentive staff. In the room with us was a larger party of seven or eight, celebrating a birthday, a table of two women and an expectant couple. No one was whispering, so there was a slight din of chatter and conversation around us, one where if you paused you could hear the conversation around your table fairly clearly. I mention this to set the mood for you so you can understand what I'm going to say next. When we started to eat, our children were happy and not exactly the quietest. There were a few happy shrieks. But we kept them as quiet as possible and where attentive to their needs, even sacrificing a cup of water so my son could dig out the ice cubes. It came obvious fairly quickly that our presence was not welcome, as the ladies in the table behind us glared anytime our sons made a peep and the party behind us made snide comments. In the end I requested my desert to go and tried to quickly leave. I was pulled aside by the Maître d on my way out, despite my waiters best attempts to avoid this confrontation. The Maître d did his best to "school" me in how inappropriate it was to bring my child out to Ca'Bianca and how I had ruined the romantic dinners of the patrons around me. Ie: the party of seven-eight behind me, and the more than two person groups out in the main dining area. He requested that I go home and "think about my actions", as though I was a child, not a patron who had thoughtlessly dropped more than $50 on my personal dinner. I have never felt so ashamed and embarrassed in my life, and it was not a result of the actions of my child that led me to feel that way. I apologized, in what I hope was an equally condescending manner. Apparently there had been an expectation of every guest there that night that they would not be disturbed by the sounds of children. I would make some comment about hoping everyone felt ashamed of themselves, but I doubt anyone did. Our waiter and staff were fabulous, they talked to our children in a warm way, and where polite when my friend asked if anyone had complained. The food was delicious, I had the Polenta appetizer and beet ravioli for dinner. I have no complaints in that department. If you want good food, go here. Just don't bring your children unless you feel like taking a chance that you might be treated like scum. Edit: I was actually sincere when I apologized, I just wish I had been as condescending. It is never my intent to disrupt others or inconvenience any one. Hence why I attended to the needs of my child. I just wish everyone had not already decided that I was in the wrong for even daring to bring my child out to a restaurant.

Wonderful, fresh food. Really nice ambience. A great romantic night out.
(5)Kristen S.
Great date spot. Charming, romantic and laid-back. Service is good, value is great. And the food is delicious. Love the Victorian setting and warm color palette that keeps the ambiance cozy, not creepy. We ordered the Caprese appetizer, and for entrees I ordered the rigatoni with sausage and tomato cream sauce, and my boyfriend ordered the chicken ravioli special. Both were very tasty, not over or under-seasoned and the pasta cooked perfectly al dente. When he told me he was going to get "chicken ravioli," I shrugged it off thinking it would just be a 'meh' dish with a bland filling. Plus, I'm not usually a fan of ravioli, but I was impressed with the flavors. For dessert we had the apple puff pastry with vanilla gelato and scooped up every bite. Yum! Ca'Bianca is a quaint little spot for date night or celebrating a special occasion.
(4)Rachel M.
The parking sitch here is no good. Maybe 8 spots in the lot and everything else is on a residential street. Anyway, once your friends help you navigate into a spot, everything is great. The ravioli are so good - butternut squash and I think another one was just cheese. Also tried one of the pasta specials that had salmon, asparagus, and a cream sauce. Amazing. Service isn't really top tier, but it's still very friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and quaint inside - especially on a warm night out on the screened porch.

Service is 5 stars, and food is 4 stars. However, our experience tonight was so frustrating that we won't go there again. A friend and I took our 1 year olds for a last minute dinner for restaurant week. We were seated and bread was brought out quickly, which the children enjoyed. Our children were making normal (happy!) noises, but they weren't melting down and they weren't endlessly screaming. The manager came over and asked us to keep our kids from screaming. I just sat there dumbfounded because our kids weren't screaming. We kept the kids occupied and busy, but they're not mute. A table with 7 people started making loud, snide comments. As we were leaving, the manager took my friend aside and chided her for us bringing our children. Our kids weren't out of control, they weren't melting down, and we were responsive to them. I was a server for 10 years, and I can't imagine any of the managers I worked with handling this this way.

Very authentic Italian food. Love to sit in the bar area for a drink and a light dinner. Also, serves wines distributed by Chigazola importers. Very tasty imported wine.
(5)Joni J.
This is the best Italian food this side of Roma. The owner, Marco is very personable and has attentive and professional staff. Michael makes great mixed drinks at the bar. We've celebrated countless celebrations here over the past 15 years. Salute!
(5)Debra S.
No need to go any other place as the food, service and ambiance is the best! Next time we are here this will be the place we come! You will ove it!

Walking in, it is a bit confusing trying to figure out which way we were suppose to go to get seated because no one was in the entry room. The bartender told us to just wait for someone to get us and we were seated within a few minutes. Service: Everyone who helped us was really nice and accommodating. The server pulled out the seat and pushed it in for me. Our waters and bread bowl were kept filled. Our check and food came out in a timely manner. Food: The complimentary bread was good. - Lobster "bisque": It is a stretch to call it a bisque because I am more familiar with bisques being creamy and thick but this was more like broth with lobster/shrimp inside. This isn't to say we didn't finish the bowl though. I didn't care too much for the crackers on the side though. - Ravioli a la mar: I dont think I've ever ordered ravioli at a restaurant before but I was inspired by a recent episode of Master Chef to give it a try. It was tasty but it wasn't my favorite dish of the night -Pappardelle pasta with lamb: YUM this was my favorite dish. We had left overs that we ate the next day and it still tasted delicious. -Green banana cocktail: I just wanted to try it out because it was a hot day and it sounded refreshing... but it tastes too sweet. The only complaint I have is that it feels stuffy in the main dining room. I noticed that there was another room beyond the window we were sitting in where a small banquet was going on so maybe the house/restaurant was extended which messed with the air flow of the place? Overall, I enjoyed my experience. Btw, the crowd here is a bit on the older side...

By far the best restaurant experience we've had in Santa Rosa. The pesto pasta with organic chicken was orgasmic! I was expecting higher prices than they charge so we were pleasantly surprised by our bill, which was around $75 for two entrées, two glasses of wine, and a shared dessert. The tiramisu was light yet decadent. A definite return trip in the near future! A follow up visit for my birthday on January 11th was very disappointing. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our meal. I had the same thing as the first time and it was much less appetizing. The amount of chicken was at least half of what I got the first time. Had to downgrade from 5 to 3 stars and I feel that's generous.

Ca'Bianca is a place that makes you want to sit up and pay attention to the details, because the chefs and designers certainly have. The restaurant is situated in a 19th century Victorian house (hence Casa Biana) with epically high ceilings and a lushly vegetated front yard that will make you feel like you're royalty come-for-dinner. There are no garish glints of gold or platinum, and no gimmicky displays of jewel or crystal. We found elegance in the form of the unadorned dinning ware, the classic simplicity of the table cloths and napkins. For starters, we had the seared Ahi Tuna tartare --an imaginative heap of tuna, mango, potato, and cilantro -- and the pear-stuffed gnocchi in a ecstatically pungent gorgonzola sauce. The kitchen staff's expert knife skills allowed for the thinnest slices of radish, asparagus, roast beef to combine--under a dressing of olive oil and finely-chopped basil--into an appetizer that is simultaneously succulent and vibrant. I have never liked radish until eating it here. Sharing all three antipasti could have made for a complete meal, so by the time our Sea Bass came, we had doubts about our ability to finish the souplesse hunk of flesh, resting on a bed of Bhutanese red rice. No pepper needed there; the chefs amplified the subtle flavor of the fish with a lightly creamy sauce of It's-So-Good-I-don't-care-anymore-what-it-is. There was no room for dessert, though I'm sure it would have been heavenly. Our cocktails provided enough pucker and zing to complete the experience. For just under $100 including tax and tip, my date and I had an unforgettable meal that we vowed to repeat on our next excursion to Sonoma County.

Fantastic atmosphere, the wine was excellent and the pasta was wonderful. Great prices for the quality as well. If you haven't been here you need to.
(5)Michelle R.
Came with a friend who dines here regularly. It was fun to finally eat at this Santa Rosa Classic. In the bar we ran into people we knew and had a great time chatting. The food was very good and the service was great. I will definitely go back again.
(4)Leah S.
I went here many many years ago, and not being so attuned to fine dining and appreciating higher quality foods, I actually don't even remember what I had, I'd assume a soup or a pasta, but it wasn't memorable. Now, when I was thinking of somewhere to take my dining companion for Valentine's Day, I was thinking of giving Ca'Bianca another go, to see how things have changed, or to really see how I as a diner have changed. The exterior is straight out of a romantic movie, wrap around elegant porch, vastly tall windows, perfectly pruned gardens, and tailored decor. Inside, the restored Victorian shines as well, each room glows with years of seeing diners, families, and events come and go, which I feel lend itself a sort of intrinsic welcoming feel. The food when we were there was a special menu for Valentines day, with delicate beef medallions, an absolutely tangy and garlic-y Caesar, and a very fine wine menu. My dining partner had the lobster bisque, which was good, but not excellent, and the salmon raviolis, which were fantastic. Of course, the creme de la creme (no pun intended) was the panna cotta. Perfectly dense without the jello-y texture of an inexperienced chef, accompanied by a raspberry compote, blueberry sauce, and a sweep of mango. To be totally honest, I've come back just to eat a piece of panna cotta, it's really just that good. The downside of dining here is on event evenings, it gets packed really fast, and the wait can be miserable if you didn't bother with a reservation. Also, parking is a nightmare, especially if you're dressed up and don't want to walk from down the street. On the plus side, the waiters, three of them, tried to figure out what exactly "gluten free" was. I have to give them points for trying, and mega points for actually sending the maître d out to figure out what I needed. I was impressed, and thankfully, all points were made, and we left satisfied, and full, and happy to have given Ca'Bianca another go.
(4)Kim C.
Delicious food in the atmosphere of a lovely and welcoming home. I have onion garlic alergies which pose problems in most restaurants and limit my selection. Everything here is cooked fresh and they can make almost any dish I chose work. Gnocchi especially good. Also, I gave a large birthday party in the back room which went flawlessly.
(5)Debbie G.
This restaurant has everything I want in a great restaurant: fabulous food, ambience and service! My partner and I ate here 3 weeks ago. Ordered carpaccio--gorgeous presentation and yum, Petrale sole and housemade ravioli finished off with creme brûlée!!! We are going back in two weeks which is not soon enough!
(5)Dave B.
Great food..excellent service...and the bartender mixes great drinks...i had the steak and my girl had the salmon and both dishes were well prepared and the wait was negligable...this is an awesome place to have dinner..i highly recommend this place...i will be making it a regular place for dinner
(5)Chantal T.
Came here for my cousin's wedding rehearsal dinner and I was very happy. AMBIENCE This historic Victorian house was so charming for her dinner. I could imagine having dinner outside on warm summer nights. SERVICE We were a huge group and the servers were so awesome. They were quick to take our orders, bring waters, or anything that we asked for. Everything went so smoothly for such a big group of us. FOOD We had a fixed menu so it may be different from what others experienced. The bread was plentiful which was good because we were starving. I tried both salads (the ceasar and spinach) and they were fresh but nothing out of the ordinary. The entrees that I tried were delicious (baked lasagna and carbonara pasta). Soooo good. I also liked both desserts. DRINKS Wine was provided with our meal so I didn't get a chance to really explore the drink menu here. Based on our experience, I would definitely return if I ever found myself in Santa Rosa again!
(4)Jacob S.
I would have never been able to believe that I could ever taste Italian cooking as good as my grandmothers. The atmosphere is exquisite and remarkable; true fine dining.
(5)Meredith C.
Beautiful, classy venue for a romantic dinner. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for our anniversary dinner and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I wish I remembered our waiter's name but it was last week. All I can say is that he was fabulous, charming, entertaining, and really contributed to the experience. The dinner was amazing, I had the pesto and he had the chicken. The bottle of wine we picked was delicious. We didn't have desert since our meal was so filling already, but we enjoyed the ambiance for a few hours and closed down the restaurant. Would highly recommend Ca'Bianca, especially for a romantic night out.
(5)cynthia j.
Went here lasts night and had the lobster ravioli and fettuccini with Italian meat sauce. Excellent food and great wine! What more can you ask for?
(5)Paul D.
My wife and I have been here many times on our romantic dates. The variety of Italian food is delicious. This is an elegant place to take your date or friends. The ambiance is formal and elegant. It's a perfect place to dress up and enjoy your variety of italian dishes with great people and conversation. They have a great selection of healthy salads and appetizers for the healthy eater.
(5)Carla F.
I would put the food and ambience right up there w Madrona Manor, Healdsburg, but more casual dress code. I'm always impressed here. The wine prices are great along with food.
(5)clearlight m.
The food was good. Quite good. The building itself charming, with an ambience of old school elegance The service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. So why only 2 stars? There was a table with a very casually dressed (shorts, sandals, baseball cap, you get the picture) couple with badly behaved children who were noisy and literally running around, generally out of control, and completly out of place in this type of restaurant. I asked for and spoke to the manager, who acted like I was the problem, not these ill-mannered rubes who should have gone to Chuck E Cheese or some such place. The manager just didn't get it. Didn't want to get it, that I'd spent close to a $100 for a nice dinner in what was supposed to be a nice restaurant, and the experience was basically ruined by a bunch of obnoxious brats and their clueless parents. So why is this the restaurant's fault? Because the managment should have been paying attention, and spoken to those parents, that they should keep their children at the table, not running through the restaurant, not shouting, not disturbing the other patrons. It is very much the restaurant's repsonsibility to monitor what goes on and be proactive before things become a problem. But what really rankled me, what will keep me from going back there, is the attitude of the so called 'manager' who just didn't want to deal with the situation, didn't even acknlowege the problem, who somehow thought that I should just accept the bad behavior of these children and their irresponsible parents. If the restaurant owner reads this, wake up, and do not indulge these types of people.

A charming place set in what might have been a residential place. The service was attentive and non-hurried but both my wife's and my food were not that hot - more lukewarm - we should have returned it but were there with out of town friends and did not want to make a fuss...so, overall a 4 star but the food a 3 star
(4)Angel H.
Love, love, love this place. Walking up to it, the curb appeal itself is great; elegant and welcoming. The staff are kind, warm and attentive. It's so common to dine at Italian restaurants staffed by non-Italians that hearing the rolling R's and watching friends greet each other with heartfelt kisses on cheeks made the experience of just being here--it felt great. The service was perfect and the food--I ordered the salmon--was very good. Wonderful!
(4)Azalia F.
My family and I have been dinning at this restaurant for a number of years. We always had excellent service from every staff member. Including the manager. Therefore I feel need to write this review. My husband and we're celebrating our anniversary . The evening ,the two women whom brought there two small children. They continually where screaming. Fortunately my husband and I where in another room. I couldn't imagine what it must have been like, for those guest and the staff must have gone through. That were dinning in the same room. My family and I will continue dinning at this restaurant. The staff have always conducted themselves in the utmost professional manner.

My girlfriend surprised me for dinner in Santa Rosa for my birthday, and I could not be any happier with this choice. Coming here, I thought I was coming to a celebrity's mansion for dinner. Although we came on a rainy day, the outdoor decor was beautiful and I would definitely come back here again when sunnier days arise. We came here at about 5:30 pm, and was seated quickly. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and the bread was not too toasty, but very fluffy and delicious with the vinaigrette and the olive oil. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful with chandeliers and spacious ceilings. The menu items were typical Italian restaurant dishes. My girlfriend and I wanted to try the specials, so she ordered the ravioli with mozzarella and I got the grilled swordfish crusted with Parmesan. We both ordered an appetizer of carpaccio which was very, very tasty and even better paired with bread. Our food came out quickly, and I must say, this is the first time I want to share my photos of the delicious entrees we got. I loved the swordfish, it was not flaky at all and tender. The parmesan crust was delicious as well and did not overpower the swordfish at all. The pesto sauce it was drizzled in was a great complement as well. My girlfriend's ravioli dish was simple, yet she enjoyed it a lot. It was very savory and not overstuffed with cheese. We both agreed that this restaurant is a place to go to for a visit in Santa Rosa. We both enjoyed our dishes with smiles.

I really was hoping this was a 5 star restaurant - went for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Ambiance was a 5 - lovely old house. Service was nearly a 5 - attentive waiter and others serving our table as well - just messed up on my after dinner drink order but no biggie. But we thought the food was only a 3 at best. Carpaccio - tender meat but drowned in lemon juice - not sure what that was about. Cesar salad was ok but I've had a lot better. Main courses of pork cutlet - good and tender with nice mushroom sauce - and special veal saltimboco - husband was under impressed. Dessert of cannoli quite good. Reasonably priced but wanted it to be spectacular and it just wasn't.

We tried Ca Bianca for our anniversary dinner and were pleasantly surprised to find that not only did they have a wonderful menu and wine list but also a full bar. I had one of the best Lemon Drops I've ever had. Our salads were fresh and had just the right amount of dressing. I had the Pollo which was baked in a puff pastry crust and it was delicious! My husband had the fish special and he also enjoyed his meal. We shared a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley and also a wonderful dessert called "Sfogliatina di Mele" which was fabulous! Our waiter was very friendly and we met the owner after commenting on the cute picture of his son on the dessert menu. It's nice to meet an owner of an Italian Restaurant who is actually an Italian. It's a beautiful restaurant in an old Victorian House and I think it's a great place for a romantic dinner. Tables are nicely spaced so you don't feel as if you are sitting with the other diners and can enjoy your own conversation. We are moving to the area next year and look forward to becoming "regulars".

Who would ever think that in downtown Santa Rosa, Ca there would be an extraordinary Italian Restaurant. I found one, Thursday night. Ca'Bianca. I should start by telling you I was born on the Isle of Capri and have experienced some of the best Italian cooking the world has to offer. From my family living on Capri, who have one of the finest restaurant on the island. To eating in the top Italian restaurants in New York, Paris, Rome, California and throughout Europe. The setting is wonderful. An old Victorian 2 story building in downtown Santa Rosa. Was seated immediately by our friendly host. Went to the back porch area into a very nice and private room. Table was immaculately set. Napkins rolled in gold holders, fine linen table cloth, glassware for water, wine, nice silverware. Our server was excellent, Damien. Water came immediately, food was brought out at the proper time so that you never felt hurried. Empty plates removed quickly and quietly. Wine glasses were never empty, as was the water. Bread was plentiful. Damien made sure to ask if we had any questions on the menu items. He let us know what portions were large or perfect size so that you could order a side salad or have dessert, or start with an appetizer. He knew his menu. That is service. Fresh, soft, Italian bread was brought immediately. You know the kind, soft inside and crusty on the outside. Olive oil on the table was warm and had a rich flavor, perfect for dipping. Selected an excellent Merlot and ordered dinner. There were three that evening. I had a Avocado Salad with sliced avocados, tomatoes, pickled onions, Kalamata olives and lightly dressed with oil and vinegar. Then Tagiolini Caprese (home made pasta with fresh tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and a light tomato sauce. Excellent, reminded me of my Aunts cooking on Capri. Home made pasta if not cooked right will get all gummy and stick together in huge balls. This pasta you could easily wind on the tablespoon Damien provided. That is how you eat pasta, wind it in a spoon. perfect mouthful. My wife had a Scallop and shrimp Risotto, perfectly cooked, creamy yet not lumpy, gummy or raw. My wife's sister had the Grilled Swordfish. This was also cooked to perfection. Not raw, not overcooked. The sections of meat easily flaked off with the fork. Then there was dessert. I am one to be very critical of Italian dessert. Had the Tirraimsu. Wow! The right coffee flavor, delicate that it would melt in your mouth. No chewing. The same I can same for the Creme Brulee, and the Panna Cotta. Presentation was excellent. It was like looking at a painting of the dessert. Next time I will take pictures and show you visually the wonderful eating experience we all enjoyed that evening. I would go back at the drop of a hat. The only problem is that I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get to Ca' Bianca. So those of you that live in Santa Rosa, you have a hidden gem in your midst. Take if from one that knows the difference between True Italian cooking and those restaurants that employ cooks who can not speak Italian or read the Italian recipes handed down from Mamma. Marco, the owner came out at the end of dinner and introduced himself to us. A true Italian, speaking with the heavy accent, and checking to make sure his guests were pleased with the dinner. That is the extra touch Ca' Bianca does to make sure you are satisfied. Go, see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Remember this is real Italian cooking. Simple, flavorful, does not overwhelm you with spices and seasonings. Visited May 2015

Great atmosphere, oil and balsamic vinegar were brought in glass containers to the table for the bread, so you could make your own dip for the bread. The lasagna and veal were great, the burrata as an appetizer was amazing!

Really great service. Waiters are super professional, caring, conscientious and courteous. Everything was delicious. Parking lot on site. Beautiful historical house. Salmon pasta: salmon melts like butter. Amazing sauces. Decor is unique and beautiful. Clientele is nice and upscale. Great for dinner after a day of sightseeing in the area. It's a 5-star, 3 bordering on 4 $$$ place. Not cheap but not overly expensive: everything is priced just right. I recommend it as not just one of the best Italian restaurants (or as a restaurant in general) in Santa Rosa but probably in the world. Treat yourself. We will be coming back on our next trip.

Ca'Bianca is housed in a stunning location: a charming, historic Santa Rosa home complete with a step stool out front to accommodate a person that may be entering a horse drawn carriage. Our table of five with a reservation for eight was seated promptly at a nice table. The food was fantastic. Two of us had salad, the caesar for me which was traditional and, delicious, complete with mouth watering, salty anchovies. My husband had the salad with avocado, pine nuts, tomatoes and beets. It was fresh, bright and delicious. I ordered the Petto di pollo ripen which was a delicious chicken breast filled with a little bit of prosciutto, spinach and mozzarella and served wrapped in a puff pasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the presentation with balsamic vinegar was pretty but I would have preferred maybe a side of veggies for some color. Others sampled the pork tenderloin scaloppine with mushrooms and marsala wine: yummy as well as the pesto with sundered tomatoes with linguine: excellent, and lastly...the salmon with grilled zucchini over a potato gratin. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the potato very good as well. Bread was yummy too and replenished frequently. My only compliant was that we felt very rushed by the wait staff, not only to order but to leave. I was the only one at the table to order a cocktail (given three in our party were teenagers) but it was difficult to order drinks as our waiter was quite distracted and I was never offered another cocktail and I would have enjoyed one. All in all, the food and ambiance was perfect, however, the servers perhaps could slow down and listen and not rush patrons through the meal.

Woo! Man! Sometimes, you go out for a fancy dinner, and it's ok. Portions are too small, service is snooty, the other patrons are either absent or awful, etc. But then, other nights, you plan a romantic dinner to a place you've never been, and absolutely everything is better than you could possibly have planned! Ok, so, spectacular service, incredible food (the portions were even decent), and it was fun! That deserves another note: it was fun. All of the servers were absolutely flawless, they came exactly when they needed to (and not when they didn't) they were knowledgeable, their recommendations couldn't have been better, and, they did everything with a smile and a collection of completely unrehearsed witty comments. In other words, they were fun! Absolutely recommended, especially the Salmon, the Squash Ravioli, and the homemade limoncello! Great dining area, there are larger group tables, small tables (indoor and outdoor) and a less-formal bar that had some excellent specials - and, if it was the same bartender for the restaurant, they make a mean drink!

Celebrated a lovely birthday dinner tonight. Everything tasted wonderful, words cannot describe how wonderful everything tasted. The menu had so many wonderful sounding things it was hard to choose. Ended up ordering the appetizer special and a pasta to share. Then the chicken in puff pastry and veal was also ordered at the table ended with the tiramisu and theater coffee.

I was hesitant at first. I was correct in my assumptions. Walking into the restaurant I was not sure what to expect. I was greeted by a cold waiter who later got our order wrong. After the mess up, he tried to argue with us and tried to make it seem like it was OUR fault when clearly it was him. I am never coming back after this horrible service. Fuck these bitches.

Great food, great service and great ambiance! I took my best friend and his wife for his birthday. They took great care of us and it was a memorable meal! HIghly recommend

We spent Saturday night at Ca'Bianca for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. It could not have been more delightful. The ambiance, service and most importantly, the food was all top notch. The porcini filet was amazing and I heard the same about the salmon. We were treated like royalty. I would recommend Ca'Bianca to anyone looking to have a lovely dining experience. Well done!

Pleasant atmosphere in a really nice looking Victorian style house. The service was great and the food was absolutely incredible. One of the best Bolognese sauces I have ever tasted. Highly recommend.

Perfect romantic dinner for two in this Victorian home turned restaurant! Our waiter was fantastic with excellent wine pairing suggestions and delicious entrees. We are very particular foodies with critical attention to detail, believing that a great meal is worth the money (and are willing to pay for that experience). This place delivered and didn't break the bank ... a very good value. They even helped us procure transportation on our way out! Top notch from beginning to end!

I am not going to talk about how wonderful it was to eat in a gorgeous, stately mansion where the grounds were as beautiful as the indoors. I am not going to talk about the incredibly, ultimate pallet pleasing, mouth watering salads, meals, drinks and dessert that made me savor every bite. Those elements were all off the charts and I wouldn't know where to start to describe them. What I do want to talk about is the fact that we came here on the spur of the moment - with no reservations. We first asked to be seated out on the beautiful porch where we thought we could enjoy the scenery. James, our (soon to be learned, outstanding) server brought our water and menus but as we pondered over them the wind picked up. So we asked to be seated inside. Not a problem. He couldn't have been more accommodating. As he brought us to our second table, the manager told us that we may not be able to eat inside as reservations were full for the night. Poor James had thought we had had reservations. So we waited a minute and were then told it was fine - that we could stay there. Not a problem. But that's not the last of it! I am gluten-free and was so excited about the fact that the menu stated "Gluten-Free Pasta available" that when I ordered, I forgot to tell him about my allergy! The next thing I knew I had taken a few bites of the most fabulous Ravioli on the planet when I realized my mistake and I was eating gluten! Now we have to tell him this, too! But - not a problem! They took my plate and I ordered a new dish, which came out quickly - and THEN was charged only for the first meal because it was a bit cheaper! What? That is not what I would expect anyone to do! The attitude towards guests who don't make reservations, expect to be moved after being seated the first time and order the incorrect food could have gone terribly awry. However, it was the complete opposite. James's demeanor was absolutely delightful as he joked a bit with us while still being an impeccably professional server. He was personable and never, for a minute, showed a bit of irritation with having to put up with us. It made the evening a total delight. If nothing had gone wrong and he treated us that well, I would have been extremely pleased - but his reaction to the blunders was incredible. He is simply the best. So - I apologize again, James! But I will tell everyone to go to your beautiful restaurant and ask to be seated at one of your tables. They will have a wonderful, upbeat, great experience. Thank you again and we will be back!!

I celebrated my BD in their private room upstairs. Customer service is big here. Marco was very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. James was so kind and stayed probably way longer than he was supposed to...Everybody loved the restaurant setting and the food was good too. I personally didn't love my dish, but it was ok. Best of all was their fresh baked bread! Will go back to try other dishes.
(4)Yvonne D.
What a beautiful restaurant tucked away from the main street! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. What more could you ask for! I love Italian restaurants where I don't end up ordering pasta because everything else looks so good. I suggest the lamb dish with the polenta (yum) or salmon dish with the potatoes au gratin (so creamy and delicate)! Save room for dessert too because the pana cotta is their signature dessert but the almost flourless chocolate cake was better IMHO.

So disappointing... My fiance and I live in the area and frequent many restaurants/bars. We decided to dine here for a nice romantic, personal experience. We picked Ca'Bianca off the yelp reviews, all of which seemed quite perfect as to what we were looking for. As soon as we were seated I knew we were in for a haul. Our 'waiter' didn't come to our table for a good 15 minutes. Thank the lord for the busboy, who brought us water and bread. We are 23 and 26 years old...As a previous waitress I understand the pressure restaurants are under, but I cannot comprehend the blunt rudeness of asking for our IDs when he finally decided to grace us with his presence. We ordered 2 cocktails, the gnocchi app, 2 glasses of wine, the rib eye and scallops & prawns. Good nosh. :) Our original bill was $137. It included only the 2 entrees, and THREE CORKAGE FEES. 2 wine corkage fees and ONE LIQUOR BOTTLE FEE. I have never in my life been charged a spirit corkage fee at a restaurant, nor have I ever bought a bottle of liquor at dinner. Am I wrong in saying a corkage fee is charged when bringing in your own bottle? Is that not why a corkage fee exists? Furthermore, what restaurants have this policy & customers who bring in spirits from home, and since when is this socially acceptable at a family restaurant in Sonoma County? At first, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Then our wheels started turning. My fiance had to speak up... Our 'adjusted bill' was $97. Still totally incorrect, as our gnocchi app was billed as $11, but we couldn't even deal anymore. Honestly, we had a noteworthy and great, romantic dinner... I think that had more to do with us, which is totally perfect... :)

I took my wife out to dinner for our 15th yr anniversary We brought a Nice bottle of wine (2005 Gary Farrell Pinot Noir) It went with both our meals very nice. Great food and service! Would love to go back.

Fantastic. It was hard to narrow down the menu choices. We started with the tasty spinach salad. The special crab cannenoli in a tomato based sauce that was very flavorful. How do you make great chicken? The chef figured this out by stuffing the chicken, cheese and some spinach in a puff pastry which was baked and served over a nice mushroom sauce. The decorations made you feel welcome in a friends house. Candlelight added the finishing touch to a romantic or special evening. The owner and servers made you feel at home. You should give Ca'Bianca a try.

I thought because it was during an occasion they were hosting the service wasn't at par with what I am accustom to, regarding this is a "fine dining" apparent experience. I've been to Ca'Bianca now 5 times, at various times, with various wait staff, etc. Pleasing is the timeliness of the appetizers, though, I did not feel they were fresh catch of the day, as I did not with any seafood I ordered. I felt the salad greens were a bit worn for the price. This is a wonderful place to have the "high end" experience in a small, rural town. I honestly would rather attend their farmers market and online a recipe of FRESH cuisine and impress thus way. I truly regret that the 5 of 5 times I've attended, it is not to par with pricing or freshness. There apparent lucky charm is just that, attempt at charm. Research the area, there are more places in a 10 mile radius at the same pricing or less for the quality of food. I'd drive. Priced fresh, but not. Hours are confusing, calling is required unfortunately, to see if they're open as it's a confusing schedule- I believe they're only there when they feel like it. Check out their web site, it will confirm as of 4PM July 1, 2012. I implore you to research the area. I am from the Sacramento area, I opinion from S. Tahoe to Monterey to Bodega Bay to Oregon. Santa Rosa is a frequent of my for family, I'm always eager to qual ify outside of the rural unknowing expectations.

This weekend, on Saturday night, we were in town and ready to pick a restaurant, and I remembered Ca' Bianca, such a lovely authentic Sonoma setting for a charming old world experience and romantic date! I have enjoyed Ca' Bianca several times over the past three years and I hope it never changes! I enjoyed each of the three rooms, and especially the veranda and garden grounds. There are features like frescoes on the walls, the traditional high ceilings, and carved wooden fireplace mantel. I have not seen anything quite like it anywhere, Marco Diana has a gem! I love the adjacent bar and the ladies room facilities have been upgraded and renovated beautifully. I suggest this venue for groups and special parties!
(5)Norm B.
All the right moves. Sara did a great job walking us through all the selections. Wonderful big cab made by the owners friend. The table lay out needs a bit improvement - a few tables do not offer good space/view. Best to eat outside on good weather days. Unique flavors, all good, but not my personal favorite. But, I think this is a wonderful place. Pick a nice day, and make sure you ask or see if Sara is working, She is a well trained, knowledgeable, and the perfect personality for having a fun dining experience.

Beautiful old Victorian home, and like others mentioned it was a bit confusing where to go to get seated when we first arrived. But minutes later we were sitting in what appeared to be in an enclosed sun room. The setting was beautiful, and the service was friendly and efficient. We had a leisurely dinner with multiple courses including dessert, and every course was excellent. My favorite dish was an avocado and tomato salad. And the slow cooked beef over polenta special was very good. For the quality of food, service and setting, the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place for an romantic dinner.

We just celebrated our anniversary and I was torn between Thai (SEA), John Ash (been there), Italian cuisine (Riviera, Rustic, Catella's), or French (Bistro 29). Since I lived in SR for more than a decade and have not been to Ca'Bianca. This was voted the most romantic place too when we first moved here. Last year, we went to Farmhouse Inn and this year, we would like a similar romantic setting. So Ca'Bianca it was! By the way, our mission is to try new restaurants on special occasions. I was able to make a same day reservation, and they were able to accommodate us on a Friday evening dinner. First, they served us their home baked Italian bread. A truly delicious bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ordered the shellfish appetizer ($13) and paired it with Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay ($36). We enjoyed every bite of it and dip the bread to the seafood juices and literally cleaned the plate. The entrees were the best, the lamb shank with the side of polenta, was tender and seasoned just right. My companion had the mahi mahi entrees and said that he enjoyed his dinner too. The service was great, warm but non intrusive. The friendly owner came to our table and briefly chat with us. Incidentally, they had an occasion that night and we were seated next to the window and was able to witness their occasion. It was a wonderful sight, very entertaining indeed. This summer, I would like to come back and have dinner in their patio. A great ambiance for those hot summer nights, I love Ca'Bianca. That's Amore!
(5)John K.
My wife and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. The converted Victorian house is a very nice place to share a meal. The service was impeccable and the food excellent. My salmon was done perfectly, and the wife's lamb was tasty. We look forward to coming here again.

I FREAKIN' loved this place. Went here out of pure curiosity for my boyfriend and I's four year anniversary. The setting is excellent. Being raised in a hundred and year Victorian home, it really enamored me to eat in such a beautiful place. We went here on a Tuesday, and it was very quiet and romantic. Our wait service was excellent. He spoke in a charming accent. I had the salmon over a potato gratin. Absolutely delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly, was a good sized portion, and the potato gratin was perfection. My boyfriend had the chicken puffed pastry and liked it as well. If you are looking for somewhere to spend a romantic special occasion, or even an elegant night out, this is your place. The atmosphere, service, and food was amazing, hence the five stars.
(5)Emily T.
Had dinner here on a Friday night, party of 2, and the service was flawless! We both had the Caesar salad, I had the Pasta Carbonara and he had the Pollo. Everything was very tasty, including the bread. Would highly recommend Ca Bianca for a romantic date night!
(5)Yvette T.
You must go here! We had the best rehearsal dinner for my son's rehearsal dinner. The dinner was delicious. We had a three coarse meal that was perfect. Karin and Marco own this restaurant! Let me tell you that they did every thing possible to accommodate me to make me happy to make this a grand success. And I must mention their assistant Brook. Bravo! She keeps on top of it all! They did not miss a beat. We had 4 choices for the meal. The breast of chicken was out of a magazine and absolutely delicious. The Salmon was flaky tender and flavorful, the apple tart...OMG. Surprised me...was to die for. Oh...almost forgot... Marco the owner pared my wines to perfection! Deliciosio! If you are looking for a quality restraint where they care and give quality delicious food for your next party or meal this is a winner! A+ and 5 stars from 38 of us!!! Thank you...from Yvette and Bob Thoma

Took my wife out for dinner on Saturday night and wanted some Italian. Found CaBianca via Yelp and the reviews seemed fine so off we went First off, easy parking in connected lot, beautiful Victorian turned into a nice quite romantic restaurant with a nice menu. Just a note, the appetizers can make a meal in them selves. Everything was the right temperature and was cooked as ordered. Wine selection seemed very adequate, we brought our own, corkage was an average $15.Service was attentive, almost t the point of annoying but never pushy or rude. Did not have to wait long for anything. Will go again.

Stopped for lunch on business. Great service, fantastic bread. Pasta was a little firmer than I like. Great place to take a date.
(3)Jen H.
Hello Yelp World! Life has been busy--haven't been feeling myself lately--at least for the last 2-3 months. Anyhow, I was able to dine here for lunch. Awesome service, ambiance, and food! The table bread is delish! This place reminds me of an old victoria house that has been embellish into a beautiful dining room. Calamari was a good appetizer, and good selection of pasta to choose from. Be wary of the wine prices--next time I will learn to look at the price before ordering a bottle! The bottle we ordered was around $90! yikes...
(4)Tina A.
My friend and I dined here for lunch the other day as she had constantly raved about how great it was. While I enjoyed the setting which is in a old house and decorated somewhat nicely it is WAY overpriced for lunch. My pasta dish was $19...for pasta bolgenese that wasn't even great. I have had much better elsewhere. We ended up sharing the spinach salad which was tasty but small, she had the butter squash ravioli and I had the bolgenese and no alcohol for either of us and the bill was $50 without tip. The energy at this place is also very low and felt like we were dining at a high end senior center. I recommend passing on this place at least for lunch unless you want to spend a fortune on very average food!

After consulting Yelp to find a place for dinner in Santa Rosa last Friday night, our party of seven ended up at Ca'Bianca. Well, we didn't just "end up there." I actually called ahead of time and made a reservation. Good thing I did, as there were others waiting when we arrived but we were seated promptly. The ambiance at this "white house" is great for a loud group like ours, but it also works for a more intimate date. I believe there was some kind of rehearsal dinner going on in another room while we were there too, but service was still attentive and almost spot-on! Karin took our drink orders and then Carlos took over serving our table... he was awesome but there was a tad bit of confusion on some of the drinks. Then they were out of our first choice of wine and the pork chop that some of the guys were planning on ordering. We didn't let that spoil our experience though... The seven of us shared the following appetizers: *Polenta *Calamari - two different kinds *Eggplant Parm They were all delicious! I had the linguine with clam sauce entree and it totally hit the spot. Others at the table enjoyed their selections as well, especially the peeps that had the rigatoni with Italian sausage, peas, mushrooms, tomato & cream. We opted to skip Ca'Bianca's dessert and consulted Yelp once again to find a nearby frozen yogurt place instead... but we didn't have much time to get there as it was approaching 10pm by that time and the fro-yo shop closed at 10. Carlos really put a move on it when he saw we were in a hurry, which was super sweet of him. And to top it off, he sent us home with a bottle of wine on him for the minor confusion. If you find yourself in the Santa Rosa area seeking a fine Italian meal, look no further than Ca'Bianca!
(4)Mike B.
We had our son's rehearsal dinner here on 9/20/13 and the staff and food were both fabulous and delicious. Karin and Brook were wonderful hosts and Marco did an excellent job with dinner. My wife and I received many compliments from the group who attended. It made for was to be the start of a very memorable weekend. Thanks again!! A nice setting in an old Victorian type house.
(5)Van L.
Love the romantic Victorian home/restaurant. The staff is very attentive and very personable. The house bread is not all that great. I was hoping they were fresh baked bread. We started with the carparccio. The meat was sliced paper thin and I found it very unusual that the arugula was cut up but it actually worked and brought out more flavor. The lemon zest was perfect. Best I've ever had. I ordered the pappardelle with chicken and mushroom. O heaven in my mouth. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the ragu was delicious. This was the first time I forced myself to finish an entire plate of pasta (I regretted it later...lol). The husand had the special of the day, linguine pescatore. The seafood in his dish was tender and flavorful. I especially loved loved the fish (found out it was salmon, very surprised). After dinner, the waitress brought me a tiramisu with a candle. I guess she overheard us talking that it was my birthday. Excellent hearing. When we got back to our hotel, we were both extremely thirsty. This is how I often feel after eating Chinese food because of the MSG...Hmmmmm I wonder.
(4)Jena D.
Service- perfect Ambiance- could be quiet and romantic on one side of the house or fun/classy in the bar. Food- AMAZING. The stuffed baked chicken- wow. Dessert port yummmm Price- was less then we expected. Extra bonus for our waiter leaving a few of our extras off the bill.
(5)Sam C.
This has been one of my favorite lunch places for years. Classy, good food and away from all the noise of most lunch places. The little bar is a good place to meet for wine after hours. Nice porch too for dining.
(5)Robert R.
I can't say enough about this place. Professional and friendly staff, great ambience, delicious food. Really, you can't miss.
(5)Lindy B.
Just found it interesting that they had no lunch portion pasta dishes. Only panini and full sized dinner portions at full sized dinner prices. How about some lunch pasta plates. LindySez: That would make me very happy.
(4)Pete N.
We LOVE this place! Great staff. Friendly owners. The food is consistently delicious. Wonderful bartender, and we love the timeless look of the bar. Highly recommended. (Must try the muscles, wow!.)
(5)Darla H.
Ok, tried the carpaccio, veal scaloppini, chicken cacciatore and Salad and all I can say is I wish this restaurant were in San Antonio!! And the bread was excellent as well. Tried both the Pinot noir and Zinfandel and the local wines are oh so tasty!!! Service was excellent!
(5)James D.
As the final stop on my tour of Sonoma County Restaurant Week I couldn't be happier. This jewel is tucked away in the heart of downtown, but worth searching out. The service is polished and top notch. The food is fresh, subtle and delectable. This place can be held up as a model to other restaurants as an example of what it means to "get it right" . I have high standards when it comes to food, ambiance and service, and this place ticked all the boxes, the devil is in the details and someone has taken great care in the details of every aspect of this establishment. If you happen to be looking for nice restaurant for a date, something elegant but not stuffy, somewhere classy but still casual that is sure to impress, this is the place. I'll certainly be back!
(5)Sarah M.
I brought my date here for his birthday prior to his surprise party and it was just what I needed to make our night perfect. We sat out on the porch that overlooked a garden with a fountain. The food was excellent and service was quick and polite. I recommend The Skipper Pasta :)
(5)Helene L.
Sadly disappointed by this restaurant. The staff and ambiance was pleasant but the food however was just alright.
(3)Andy D.
Had an amazing meal and incredible service at Ca'Bianca. We showed up without reservations after seeing a movie and were seated right away. Carlos are waiter was awesome. Can't say enough about how good he was, and a fun guy. I had the Pollo with mozzarella, prosciutto, and spinach in philo. Ridiculously good. Girlfriend had the polenta and a salad. Both great. Wine was a good deal. Even had dessert. We'll be back next time we're up in the Santa Rosa area.

An old Victorian house transformed into a beautiful Italian restaurant. My wife and I had: Salad with poached pears - 5/5 Polenta with mushrooms - 4/5 Ravioli with brown butter sauce - 4/5 Service was amazing. Atmosphere is amazing. Pricing is good. A must! Food - 4/5 Service - 4/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Value - 4/5 Overall - 4.5/5

Gorgeous place with yummy drinks and food! This was romantic and perfect after a day of wine tasting :)

Went to visit a friend up north before the holidays and thought this would be a nice place for dinner. They had been there before and have had a good experience. The location is beautiful but not very cozy as I had expected inside a house. Dinner was very mediocre and the waiter even a bit disrespecful as he got into a little football feud with my friend's husband. blah
(2)Diane H.
What a wonderful restaurant! Everything was great. Staff and owner are so friendly and helpful. The Frito Misto was very good. It not only had calamari but shrimp, thin slices of carrots and zucchini. So different. The special salad was delicious. The gorgonzola and pears in the salad were perfect. My scallops w/arugula and mushroom pasta was absolutely fabulous. I'm running out of adjectives. My husbands Linguini Vongole was so good. The desserts (chocolate "cake" and tiramisu) were to die for. if you want a romantic dinner, the ambience is perfect. I'm glad we found this place. We plan to go there again.
(5)Lucy D.
My uncle found this nice local Italian restaurant near downtown Santa Rosa. It's in an old Victorian home converted into a restaurant. I loved the unique design of the building and also the surrounding landscape. There was a full bar where I enjoyed an Italian liqueur called Campari. The bartender was nice and friendly. My family came here for a birthday celebration so we had a big party of about 20 people. The waiters were good about keeping up with the food and drinks. We had calamari for appetizers and that was very yummy too. Along with squid, there were shrimp, and octopus in the seafood mixture. YUM! For the salad I had Insalata di spinaci (spinach salad). It was good, but nothing special; I asked them to take off the bacon. For the main course I ordered a crustacean dish with brown rice. It wasn't as big as I was expecting it to be. There were only three shrimp and three scallops. That ended up being okay because I had had a lot of focaccia bread as well as the calamari and salad. I will say that one of my scallops was disgusting. It was noticeably smaller and it looked bad. I took a bite and it was very rubbery. The same thing happened to my cousin who ordered the same dish. I'm not sure if this happened because we were sitting with a group of children and they though we wouldn't notice, or if they usually serve old food to their diners. Regardless, it was a large appointment in an otherwise tasty meal. Finally, for dessert I ordered the chocolate cake. It was heavenly! It was very rich and delicious and I completely ate the entire thing. I thought I was full before eating it, but I somehow managed to make more room. Overall, I would say the ambiance was nice, the food was good but not great and a little overpriced.
(3)Lynn C.
Dinner for 6 on a night with a huge wedding party in the private room next door. Still we were able to actually have a conversation without shouting, and the food was great! Service was a bit slow, but it was a rainy night and we weren't in any hurry. And when the bill came, it was a little bit lower than similar dinners at other very good places in the area. Charming setting, and overall a really great experience! This is not a hip trendy, noisy place. It is fine dining, with a relaxed atmosphere and old world elegance.Highly recommended!
(5)Jay V.
This place was just wonderful. Nestled on a very ordinary quiet street, you'll find this beautiful victorian house, now converted to a resto, serving some of the best Italian food I've had in a while. The front kind of had a Secret Garden-esque look and feel to it. They kept the outside, and inside decor very simple, nice, and well suited for a Victorian home. It really did feel homey, warm and comfroting once inside. The only thing I can say that kind of threw of the ambience and flow of decor was the bar, which was seperate from the dining area, but that wasn't so bad. Once inside and seated the waiter was very attentive and polite. Told us the specials. What they didn't have that was on the menu, and even offered to explain what certain dishes were, which was very helpful if needed. We were seated on what I think was an open patio before. It was now enclosed with a bunch of windows and real walls, not some faux appearance like some place that take the cheap route. Our table was on the side that faced the garden, fountain, and walkway in the front. It was nice to glance outside and just admire it. The selection was great. While we chose our entree's they gave us bread with oil and vinegarette. We skipped appetizers and went straight to our entree's. I ordered the Petto di pollo ripieno and my girlfriend ordered the Fettuccine alla bolognese. Both were very good and tasty. My entree was packed with flavor. At first I was skeptical because of its relative size, but it was more than enough. The chicken was very moist, and the prosciutto gave it that flavor that I have a weakness for. The cheese was perfectly melted and the pastry it was enclosed in was thin and flakey. Perfect. If the pastry was any thicker I know I wouldn't have liked it. The marriange of a thin light crunch combined with the cheesy chicken prosciutto mix was to die for. It was so good. The Fettuccine was really good too. That too looked deceivingly small portioned, but oh boy was it filling. The meat sauce was the perfect viscosity. Not too thick, not runny at all. The addidtion of freshly grated parmesian on top from the waiter added that final flavor that put it over the top. Everything was really good down to the free bread. I definitely will be back for more when I'm in the area for that romantic, but not up tight and dressy type of dinner. I highly recommend this place for anyone to take their significant other for dinner that won't won't impede on you with it's casual yet romantic setting.

Awesome spot to bring a date - the house that the restaurant is in is beautifully decorated, and the dinner by candlelight inside sets the romantic mood! However, I'd suggest coming here for an early dinner -- my girlfriends and I were here for a pre-bachelorette party dinner this past weekend and ended up staying until 10:30 pm. At that point, the restaurant was deserted, and the romantic setting turned into a sorta haunted house feeling place! We were expecting the windows to burst open, the candlelight to flicker, the chandeliers to start swaying .... you get the point! haha :) Of course, that didn't happen, but all of us were thoroughly freaked out, especially upon entering the bathroom, it was pitch black with the lights turned off!! Is this typical of Santa Rosa for everyone to head home by 10 pm?? Definitely make your way here at a decent hour when there's plenty of people at the bar and having dinner. The Tilapia in Carpione is excellent and definitely a winner if you're opting for a healthier meal! The pastas here look excellent as well, and the girls I was with enjoyed them thoroughly!! Make sure to give this place a try when in Sonoma or Santa Rosa!

I quite literally just returned home from my birthday dinner at Ca'Bianca and couldn't get my laptop open fast enough to write this review. First off - how do you get more amazing than re-furbished Victorian house that's downtown? Yah. You don't. Second - they have a private (free) lot. SCORE! Third - the staff is friendly. Not just nice because that's their job, but actually chatty and sweet. Fourth (and I save the best for last) - the food *drool* I'll admit, I was a little butt-hurt when our waiter informed us that they were out of the mozzarella for the caprese salad. I actually thought "well, hell, there goes the night" but this was (very swiftly) corrected. We started with the polenta appetizer, and I agree whole heartily that it should be an entree item. It was amazing. Dare I say better than grandma made. Now, I'm not a foodie by ANY means. When I eat I either like or dislike something, and I usually don't make a hoopla about it. Tonight was a HUGE exception. I ordered the rack of lamb special (which had some crazy name I couldn't begin to pronounce) and I about died a very, VERY, happy death. It was perfectly pink in the middle, and had this amazing parmesan crusted exterior. There was just enough fat left on the meat to melt into it once in your mouth. Just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. No, seriously. I actually had to hold back screams of delight because I couldn't stand how delicious this meal was. The little potatoes that came along side it were drool worthy, and the carrots were cooked to perfection - just the right amount of bite still left. I actually think angels may have created the sauce. My boyfriend ordered the stuffed chicken in the puff pastry and I may have made a mistake by giving him a bite of mine at the start of the meal, because he actually regretted ordering his. Not to say he didn't like it, but he didn't like it as much as the lamb :) Dessert was okay - but honestly NOTHING was going to be able to compete with the lamb special. *drool*

I love this restaurant. Not only is it gorgeous inside and out, the service is impeccable. Our waiter was fantastic and offered to take our picture outside, directing us to pose by the fountain and the roses. To begin, we both had the poached pear salad. O.M.G. Those pears, so cinnamony, so sweet. The salad was topped with a really balanced blue cheese and a reduced balsamic. I had to stop myself from licking the plate. I had the polenta with mushrooms. The polenta is so firm yet soft. I have no idea how they do it. It's so yummy. The tomato sauce served with it is so flavorful. This is a fantastic place to have a romantic dinner in Santa Rosa.

Absolutly Wonderful service and yummy food. Nice outdoor patio. Regular menu is a bit pricy for lunch.... but they have specials just for lunch that are resonable.

In May 2011, our family booked a room so that my fiance and I could be married - right there in the restaurant. It was beautiful and the staff were so helpful, and really terrific. We ordered off the menu so each member of our family could order what they wanted. Anyway, while hors d'ouvers were passed around, we stepped outside and took pre-wedding pics in the garden and around the property. Truly beautiful, intimate setting. Tomorrow, we are celebrating our 1st year anniversary and last night we went to Ca'Bianca to celebrate, just the hubby and I. We were greeted with smiles and warmth. You sense it's a fancy place, but everyone is treated equal - we dressed up but others came in jeans and a t-shirt, and there were a few kids there. Every guest is just as important as the next. Heraldo came along and wished us a happy anniversary. He was just as wonderful last night as he was a year ago. We never ever felt rushed, and spent nearly 2.5 hours there - which I think is normal. Food is delivered hot. Not overcooked hot - perfectly cooked hot! As a mother who often dines on leftovers and cold food, hot food is genuinely appreciated. The house is an old Victorian and the rooms are still as they probably were before a restaurant moved in. There's a main room, larger room, and a sun room. There are even dining tables upstairs, though I don't know if those are for events or overflow. Flowers adorn the white line table tops, very soft lighting throughout and soft music (maybe Italian) plays in the background. When we were there we felt like we were the only people in the room and the wait staff was there only for us. We want to dine there more often but it holds such dear, romantic memories, we want to go just on our anniversary. So, no pressure Ca'Bianca, but you guys will have to stay open til death do we part.

One of the best Italian food I ever had. The Mozarella Burrata was out of the world. My husband loved the Tiramasu .
(5)Jennifer H.
I love this place, it is where my husband and I were married in 2010! The surroundings and building are just beautiful, very romantic at night and very elegant in the day time. The food is RICH but very GOOD! Try the pesto on anything, its the best in town! The meat is always very tender and a perfect cut! Karen & Marco are the owners and are very sweet, personable and honest! Karen helped me with everything for the wedding. She is very thoughtful and patient. Working with Karen was like having a wedding planner. THANK YOU SO much for everything! We will be visiting Ca'Bianca for many, many years to come and it's always something I look forward to.

I have to agree, this was stellar, as good as it gets. We were greeted by the owner who had a warm smile and humor as he declared we were a party of 2 and a half as our 21 month old son was with us. We felt under dressed as we sat and got ready to read the menu. Bread was served warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, wine was J.Lohr Riesling. Our meal was starting out just right. I picked the chicken stuffed with Parmesan cheese and prosciutto in puff pastry, my wife had the special-homemade fettuccine with artichoke hearts. Both were wonderful! The dessert, homemade Tiramisu that actually tasted like it had liqueur in it. Very tasty. The atmosphere, the service, the food, and our experience were 5 stars. I hope if you decide to go to Ca'Bianca, our experience mirrors yours.
(5)Amanda K.
Wow, totally amazing. I've been curious about this place for years, and finally went with my husband for our anniversary. It was everything I was expecting, and more. Waitstaff was really friendly and competent, actually made the experience more pleasant, which I'm finding is pretty unusual these days. And the food, serious yum. I had the special of the day, papardelle with duck ragu, and it was amazing. If gravy and silky tomato sauce had a lovechild, that would have been the sauce on this plate. My husband had the chicken, mozzarella, mushrooms, and spinach in puff pastry, also very tasty. For dessert, we split the tiramisu and an apple tart sfogliatina with house made cinnamon gelato. Tiramisu was pretty good, though i felt it was a little damp for my personal taste, but the sfogliatina is what dreams are made of. Although it was a little loud due to a party of 14 in the dining room, the ambiance was otherwise pretty impressively romantic and I definitely consider it one of the top romantic-type places I've been in the county. It's not exactly in an awe-inspiring location, but some of the neatest places are in odd neighborhoods right? Definitely recommended.
(5)Heather D.
Lovely little restaurant. LOVED the house, food, dessert. There's plenty of parking when I went with my group of friends.
(4)Kenwood G.
I've had varied experieces here over the past 13 years. I give service in the bar area 5 stars and dining room 2 -4 stars. The place is beautifully done. The food is really good. The drinks are great. My primary complaint is the erratic / unreliable service in the dining room. But I keep returning because it is a lovely place to eat. The bar area is very nice with an intimate feeling, like the dining room can be. There is a TV in the bar if you want to watch the game while dining on carpaccio or those amazing gorgonzola gnocchi.
(4)Alan P.
Service was Fantastic, GREAT atmosphere, Fair wine selection, My dinner was quite good but my date was a bit disappointed and the server had it compt'ed ! All in all VERY, VERY NICE
(4)Carly W.
This is my favorite Santa Rosa Italian restaurant. The ambiance of the old Victorian downtown is lovely, service is great and food is delicious! You won't be disappointed!
(5)Michael C.
The Polenta e funghi was fabulous as was the Insalata d'Avocado salad. The gnocchi dish and the Brasato Beef dish were not fabulous. The weren't awful, but they weren't delicious - just plain. Too bad, too, because it's a very fine venue with impeccable service. The price is very fair, given the beautiful surroundings, the ambiance and the service. Please correct your main courses.
(3)Matt M.
One of my favorites, beautiful setting, great food and the staff is always well trained and friendly. Highly recommended!

I went there last night (Friday) with my family. The restaurant was set in a Victorian house on a dark street. Big trees are blocking the front of the restaurant. Being not familiar with the area, we had to loop back twice with the aid of our GPS to recognize it. We had reserved directly on Yelp and were seated immediately. We ordered Fried Calamari+Shrimpt appetizer (5star), Ling Cod (5star), Clam Linguini (5star), Rigatoni (4star), Salmon Ravioli (4star), Tiramisu (4 star), and Banana/Vanilla Gelato (5star). The service we received was 5 star. They fulfilled our many requests gladly without any hint of annoyance. The ambiance was excellent. We were seated at the view bay window - a perfect location. We had a fabulous time. I would like to give them a 5 star except that the Ravioli, Rigatoni and Tirimisu (not enough cake or taste of rum) wasn't up to 5 star rating. Probably 4-1/2 star would be more appropriate. I would definite recommend this restaurant and would return again if in the area again in the future.

Looking for something hearty and Italian? Try Ca Bianca's gnocchi. The small potato pillows are soft and served in a rich diced meat sauce and chopped vegetables (a nod to stew). I also recommend the butternut squash ravioli and the poelnta with marinara. Both are great, but only the gnocchi has both stunning flavor and complexity. Also, the ambiance is pretty unbeatable!
(4)Keith X.
The restaurant is in a nice, old-fashioned Victorian home. The house is quite eloquent. The food is good, but I don't know that it's much better than food half its price. In the end, I'm paying $60 for a dinner for two in the living room of a house.
(3)David L.
Excellent! You'll enjoy! Had a party of 4 for Moms day dinner. The sea bass was perfectly prepared, the pork tenderloin Marsala was delicious and the pasta dishes were excellent. This place has a great ambiance in an old Victorian house that dates back to 1876. Even has the carriage step still out on the curb! The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Try the cannoli, tiarramasu, and panna cotta for dessert. The cannoli was so good that when I raved about it, the waiter brought me another. You can't go wrong here! All at a fair price. Enjoy!
(5)Tri N.
Took my girl to this restaurant. Great place in old house. Very chill and quiet with a candle lit dinner. We ordered some red wine. It was good. Also I ordered the fettuccine with wild boar ragu. It was really good and rich. My date ordered the rock cod. Both were really good. The service was good and very personable with fun conversation. I would go back. They also have a bar too.

Last night, for the "dinner out" portion of our 15th wedding anniversary celebration, my husband decided to surprise me with reservations at Ca'Bianca. The lovely Victorian home (encircled with bountiful gardens) that houses the restaurant was lovely, our waiter Geraldo was excellent with his attentive service as well as his food recommendations, our water glasses never went dry, and between courses our dirty dishes and flatware were quickly wisked away and replaced with clean ones! Not only was the atmosphere charming and romantic, but the food was excellent! Their wonderful wine list also offered up one of our favorites Edmeades 2009 Zinfandel, so we had to order a bottle to share! Once the wine arrived we decided to share both the menu standard Polenta appetizer, as well as a "specially" offered mixed baby greens salad with roasted pears and gorgonzola cheese tid bits-both were YUMMY! We then both picked "specials" offered on the menu for our main dishes-My husband found the steak with a peppercorn reduction and accompanied by potatoes, asparagus and carrots delicious; I really enjoyed the Rock Cod fish with a light buttery-lemon reduction, and the aforementioned vegetables with capers! To top off our fantastic dinner my husband quickly consumed the apple puff pastry with icecream and said it was, "the best puff pastry" he had ever eaten! I had a lovely cup of decaf coffee (caffeine and I no longer "get along") to accompany my chocolate flourless cake. I must say that my cake round was the tastiest I have ever enjoyed. This cake was perfectly dark chocolate not-to-sweet decadent and was so delicious that I joked with Geraldo that I almost "had an orgasm" while eating it! Sorry for embarrassing you Geraldo! ;) I highly recommend the complete experience that Ca'Bianca has to offer, and we plan to return soon!

Stellar. The service was amazing, the ambiance was perfect for valentine's day, the food was even better. Perfect place to go for a romantic evening. We had the eggplant parm starter with some J Cuvee, and I went with the crab cannenoli which was superb. My wife had the flank steak with potatoes au gratin and veggies... she said it was one of the best steaks she'd had in her life and that the potatoes WERE the best she had ever tasted. The only complaint was that the barbera she ordered wasn't the best, drinkable, but not up the same amazing level as everything else. The place is also VERY pretty. I didnt' even know it was there since it's sort of off the beaten path a ways away from downtown, but we walked over after getting a drink at rendezvous and it was just a few blocks... just seems further.

Ca Bianca is awesome and what a great alternative to LaCoCo's which has also has great food, (but lots other issues-see my review). Ca Bianca has great food - the gnocchi appetizer, lamb and the chicken breasts are a few of the great items that are excellent. Service is excellent. Full Service Bar, Nice quiet setting, great for a couple's night out or a first date. Beautiful warm interior - some outside seating if the weather is nice. It's not in the downtown core or railroad square if you're looking for the more a bustling, higher energy type of atmosphere. If you want a nice romantic, or quiet couples night out (or small group), where you can actually have a nice conversation without yelling, great food, service, great wine list and or drinks- this is the place. Go and enjoy!

I need to give this place 1 star alone JUST for the POLENTA appetizer. It was really hearty and so flavorful and good. I could have easily just eaten this as my entree but I wasn't informed of the size of the portion. I have to say the restaurant itself is a bit of a trip--it's in an old victorian that was converted to make this restaurant. The hotel concierge recommended this place to us after our first choice was already booked for the evening. I am glad we came here--it was off the beaten path and it's somewhere I would have NEVER chosen to go into had I found it on my own. for my meal I had a pasta which was good, but truthfully i was so full from the polenta that I was barely able to make a dent in it. Granted I ate it later after a bit of a drinking fest, so it was cold and well, I can't really judge it if it was good or if i was just hungry. I think it was pretty good though. I would totally come back if I lived in the area, but since I don't it's likely that I would go try another restaurant nearby before coming back. However, that's not to say that it wasn't good, because it was. Restaurant would get three stars but because of the polenta, I had to raise it a notch.

I was very impressed with Ca'Bianca. We started in the cozy bar with a couple of pre dinner cocktails. The service was very attentive and timely. Two of us ordered two appetizers and two entrees. Everything was very good. I highly recommend the lamb shanks.
(4)Windy S.
Love Ca'Bianca! The romantic setting of the old Victorian home and the fantastic food made it the perfect setting for the first date, purposal dinner and eventually the wedding of my husband and I. We look forward to returning for drinks on the patio, appetizers at the bar and anniversary dinners in the dining room.
(5)Grant K.
elegant restaurant in a cute converted house. their signature drink is The Godfather which is well worth the try!
(4)Christina C.
The ambiance was really nice. It's a house! It reminds me of a quaint bed and breakfast. There was a huge patio deck outside that would have been a GREAT place to eat dinner. The food, however, was not as nice as the venue. I ordered the Brasatto, braised meat with gravy and polenta. After a friend mentioned that it smelled like fancy feast cat food, I couldn't think of anything else. There was a lot of gravy for the beef, but the polenta wasn't very creamy. We tried ordering the creme brulee in hopes of saving our dinner experience. So we expected a warm, custardy, creme brulee. But it came out cold with an overwhelming citrus taste. Oh well.
(2)William A.
Cute place. Went there for the SoCo Restaurant week, the Prix Fixe was good but not great. Will come back, and update review after a full meal. Patio looks very cool for summer.

I've been to Ca Bianca twice - once as part of a trip to Santa Rosa to scout out potential rehersal dinner locations and then for the rehersal dinner itself. Now I now there's potential for people on Yelp to overrate anything related to their wedding, seeing as they were likely blissed out during the entire experience. Please do not interperet this review that way. Ca Bianca is an amazing restaurant and a great place for an event. The food here is excellent. The sauces are perfect - regardless of whether they're pesto, just olive oil or tomato based, they are fresh, flavorful and portioned in such a way to enhance the dish, not overwhelm it. Nothing is done lazily in this kitchen, and it shows. The desserts are just as good and the wines are great here - and not just the top end ones either. Marco and Karin were great to work with all throughout the process and the dining room staff handled the evening perfectly, even when I had screwed up and told them there would be 32 people, when in reality we were expecting 35. Best of all - the price was very, very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. I would recommend them wholeheartedly if you're looking for a rehersal dinner in Santa Rosa. The gap between Ca Bianca and the other options is quite large. Not having a rehersal dinner? Come here anyway for dinner. The Victorian adds a romantic touch and you won't be sorry.
(5)Celeste D.
Ca Bianca is a fabulous place for a wedding. As a wedding photographer, I see lots of locations and I love Ca'Bianca. The upstairs room is light and airy and has beautiful windows and the garden has a sweet , happy feel. The beautiful porch, the rich wooden bar, I could go on and on about how pretty it is. At the last wedding I photographed there, the owners and the staff were standing in the back during the ceremony with misty tears in their eyes too. Thats real caring!
(5)Heidi B.
Using the words of another " Pretty Woman," the creme bruele was so good "I almost pee'd my pants!" Had the salmon with the most amazing scalloped potatoes ever. Surf and turf was excellent, as was the service and ambiance. Brought our own wine in, for a $15.00 corkage fee. An average glass of wine will set you back nearly $10.00, so it's worth the $15.00 if you plan on having a couple of glasses...or more, as you're not going to be in any hurry to leave this lovely castle and it's warm atmosphere!
(5)J F.
Ca'Bianca affords diners an elegant ambience and authentic Italian cuisine, very well-prepared and presented by friendly and attentive wait staff. For dinner we had the salmon and veal entrees, both fantastic. The starters, salad, and dessert (we had to share) were beautiful, flavorful and satisfying, and the attention to detail with the plating was not lost on us. The cocktails, wine and coffee were top-notch. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there and look forward to returning for more.
(5)Kevin S.
My wife and I hosted my parents' 50th anniversary here a while ago (3/31), and we had a great experience. Working with Karin was a breeze, and when we had slideshow/laptop issues, Marco even dispatched someone to Best Buy in time to get the slideshow done on time. They really went above and beyond. A couple of days ago, we came back for dinner, and the food was very good. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed the fresh air. The service was personable and prompt, without being overbearing or intrusive - well done!
(4)Brian K.
We started with a mozarella burrata which was basically a mozarella ball that was hard on the outside and creamy on the inside. It was paired with prosciutto, spinach leaves, and oil and vinegar. This was the highlight of the meal, very tasty. The prosciutto was not all stringy or chewy it was just right. Main dish I had a sausage rigatoni with mushroom in a creamy red sauce. The sauce didnt do much for me and seemed uninspired and there wasnt much sausage. Also the sausage was just sliced up links, I guess I prefer it unlinked and chunky. My wife had chicken which was cooked into a breading with prosciutto and mozzarella. I thought it was unbalanced with too much chicken, not enough of the other stuff. The dessert was a creme brulee but the top only had a very small portion of it sugared and crispified. I like the entire surface to have that glassy shell to break through. It tasted ok. Overall I would rank the appetizer great (4), entree pretty good (3), and dessert just okay (2).
(3)Chris J.
Inside of this beautiful Victorian house lies one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Every time I come here it seems to get better. The menu was impressive, the service attentive and Marco the owner is always there to provide a friendly welcome. On my most recent trip, I tried the rabbit, while the wife had the lamb shank. Both were amazing. The rabbit was confited and then mixed with some chicken and polenta into rounds and sauted. The mushroom sauce that came with it was ridiculously good. The braised lamb was exactly what you'd expect- fall off the bone tasty (although the sauce on the lamb could have been reduced a bit longer). Pastas are always a good bet here as well, since they are all hand made (try the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe). Parking is easy, the setting feels miles away from the hustle and bustle and it's quite enough inside that you can actually hold a conversation without raising your voice. If you're looking for a nice, romantic dinner with incredible Italian food, you're going to have a hard time beating this place.
(4)Yaeko M.
It's a nice victorian house. We ordered mixed green salad, fettuccine with traditional Italian meat sauce, pasta with clam sauce, and creme brulee. It was nice but nothing special. The service was nice.
(3)Chelsea J.
Excellent food, fantastic service, great venue! I had 10 guests for a dinner in one of Ca'Bianca's beautiful banquet rooms. Marco served us personally and was great! Everybody LOVED the food and the ambiance was spectacular. Thank you, Marco, Lorraine, and Geraldo for a lovely evening!
(5)Jessica C.
Yum! This place was great, all of the servers were so friendly and so helpful. The bread was amazing, and the olive oil and vinegar were above par for your standard oil and vinegar. We just came here yesterday, and are thinking about going again tonight just for the rigatoni with sausage, peas, and mushrooms with the tomato cream sauce. so so good. My boyfriend got that, and probably only actually got 2/3's of because I kept stealing bites from him! I got the duck breast special with honey balsalmic sauce, and it was just okay. I think I prefer my duck without the sweetness of the honey. I was surprised though that they didn't ask how I would like my duck prepared (normally I go for a medium-rare). But this place was cute and not overpriced. We were also thrilled becasue they even gave us a loaf of their house-made bread to take home! woo hoo!
(4)David F.
We went there on a Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted and taken to our table by the manager, who also took the time to say goodbye when we left. Times are tough, and although there were several other diners, we certainly didn't need our reservation. We started with a Caeser salad (simple stuff, but executed perfectly) and heirloom tomato caprese salad (tomatoes were under ripe and sliced very thin). My girlfriend's main course was braised beef on a bed of collard greens and mashed potatoes...tender, delicious, and too much for her to finish. Mine was a chicken breast stuffed with gorgonzola and spinach, wrapped in prosciutto, baked in a puff pastry and served with a wild mushroom gravy...milder flavor than I expected (not much gorgonzola), but it was tasty. Unfortunately, there was nothing else on the plate, and I think there should have been (especially considering the prices)...I was glad my girlfriend asked me to finish her dish, otherwise I would have left hungry. Throughout the meal, our severs were friendly and attentive, but unobtrusive. They have a nice selection of Italian wines, and when the wine we selected turned out to be unavailable, they split the difference with us on a more expensive selection (very nice touch). 3 stars for a great staff, beautiful grounds, an historic building, very good food, but less than great value. I hope they can become a little more generous with their portions as the economy improves...considering everything they did right, I would like to go back.
(3)Linda B.
You feel like you're walking into a southern plantation when you enter Ca'Bianca Italian Restaurant. In truth, I think it's an old, sprawling house; I could certainly imagine a large family living there. We were without reservations and wearing jeans, but they welcomed us when we showed up at the front door. Great menu, great attentive service. They have a private parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible ramp leading from the parking lot up to the front entrance.
(5)Mac D.
I've been here a few times, a friend lives in the neighborhood and she's there all the time. This is a great place to bring people whom you wish to impress. The setting is an old house with many rooms and spaces to dine. There's patio dining which is ideal for lunch or a warm summer night, and a very cool rustic bar... The Good: Food, Service, Ambiance... Ordering a steak at an Italian restaurant? The Grilled Rib Eye was so delicious I'd definitely return just for the steak. It was seared with balsamic herb marinade and topped with a Syrah wine reduction. Also, the Chef made one of my favorite pasta dishes, Linguine Putanasca, for me, though is wasn't on the menu. It was awesome! The Bad: May be hard to find because it's in a residential neighborhood and looks like a big yellow house The Ugly: So much good food, so little time...
(5)David L.
Ca' Bianca is an upscale Italian restaurant set in an old Victorian house. I really enjoyed the setting. Our table was at the bay window at the front of the house. I started my dinner with a cup of potato leek soup. The soup was in huge lipped bowl that seemed over-sized for the portion. The broth was clear. Not a way that I've had potato leek soup before, but it was very good. My entree' was duck breast in a wine reduction sauce. Very tender. I ended the meal with homemade tiramisu (heaven!!). Will definitely return.

Good ambiance, great pasta, I recommend the fettuccine w/ Bolognese. Great pre Vineman 70.3 race meal. Thanks, Tri-addict.com
(4)Kristine C.
My husband and I had a wonderful date night there last night and had the time of our lives! The service was absolutely amazing, Geraro was our waiter and he was fantastic. He told us to take our time and order course by course. Then when the food came it was so delicious and perfect portions! We were treated like royalty. Everything about the evening was perfect, we highly recommend this for anyone who wants the best Italian ever.
(5)Kim Z.
Food, wine, service and ambiance--easily 5 stars.
(5)Erika C.
This place used to be my favorite restaurant in Santa Rosa. Great duck a l'orange and salmon pasta. I've never had a bad dish here; it's still good in my book, after a visit earlier this year.
(4)Mark R.
Great fun place with flawless food
(5)Bob H.
Love the atmosphere and the creme brule. The clams were pretty great too.
(4)Jen G.
I heard a lot of good things about this place, and the building is beautiful - so one night when my husband and I were debating on where to go out to dinner, I chose Ca Bianca. The bread on the table was okay, if not a little too doughy for my taste. And, the olive oil they had on the table for dipping tasted musty and old. The inside of the restaurant is great, but that's about all it had going for it. We ordered salads, I got a beet salad, and my husband got the caesar. He said his was 'okay', and mine was pretty good. Lots of beets, fresh greens, good dressing. Sadly, that salad was the best part of the meal. My husband ordered a rigatoni pasta dish, that had a reddish-sauce that he could only describe as tasting like Chef Boyardee. I ordered Salmon ravioli that were really really fishy tasting (yes, I know I ordered fish - but I've never tasted salmon this fishy) I kind of wondered if it wasn't really salmon. The sauce was bland. I only ate 2 ravioli. I did get a takeout container because I was curious if they still used styrofoam (thanks to another review on this site) and they don't. It was cardboard. So if you like it here, don't let the takeout containers be your reason for not returning :) Carboard boxes or not, we won't be back.

I have eaten there twice. Once with a large group of people and the staff were great at accommodating us without a reservation and provided us with a really great meal within our budget constraints. My partner and I ate there recently and opted to sit in the bar, which has a great old world classy, atmosphere. They had a good vegetarian selection on the menu (same menu as in the main restaurant) and the food was delicious. All their desserts are home made and we had the tiramisu ~ best one I've ever had in a restaurant.

This is a hidden little restaurant in a pretty Victorian house - watch out or you'll miss it. Our dinner was pretty good. Not outstanding, nothing mind-blowing. Just A-OK. The service was probably better than the food.... it was great. The server wasn't bothersome, she paid perfect attention to all of our dinner needs. I had the linguini with meat sauce. The pasta is homemade - perfectly. The meat sauce was good, probably as good as an awesome sauce you could make at home. I was hoping for better, but it was nice nonetheless. ($16) My partner had the gnochietti, which was ok. The gnochi was not as tender as I like and the sauce was a bit sweet. The olive oil served with the endless bread is delicious. Oh, and the tiramisu was delicious. I'd recommend stopping by, but I'm not rushing back anytime soon.

The wife and I had the luxury of grandparents who were willing to take the kid for the night and we were not sure where to go for dinner. We considered Jack & Tony's, La Gare, Starks and a couple other of Santa Rosa's more new and swanky joints. Anyhow, I was perusing yelp for something new and different and came across a couple reviews of Ca' Bianca. I'm so glad we decided to visit. It was December 23rd so I was a little concerned if we'd be able to get in, but with a quick call I made reservations for 2 at 6:00 PM. We arrived a few minutes early and were gladly seated. The hostess took our coats and hung them up for us. We started with a couple of cocktails and reviewed the wine list. The selections on the list were adequate in both price range and selections. They offered many Californian wines as well as Italian, Chilean and French. I didn't notice if they had any New Zealand or South African but it wouldn't surprise me. We started with a salad (Caesar) which was a good size for one, or split as we did reasonable, given that we planned on dinner and desert. I had the Veal Scallopini my wife had Petto di Pollo ripieno a delicious chicken served in puff pastry. The portions were about average as compared with other restaurants in this category. The food temperatures were great, both plates were served hot and the presentation was excellent. We enjoyed a sauvignon blanc selected by our waiter with dinner. The wine paired very well with our entrees. Our waiter brought us a tiramisu paired with a tawny port to finish off our dining experience at Ca Bianca. Neither my wife nor myself had ever been to this restaurant before, but we will most definitely be coming back. If you go ask for Carlos for your waiter (if he's working that night) he's awesome!

So delicious & great service....love the old house too, wonderful ambience. Traditional italian- if youre gonna do italian in Santa Rosa, come here!

Really, really delicious Italian food. We shared the avocado salad appetizer, which was great--luscious red tomatoes and fresh avocado in an herbed dressing. Good bottle of local white wine at only $28. I had the raviolini and my bf had the papardelle with stewed meat. Both were incredible, and the pasta is all homemade. We shared a dessert of a (I think) flourless chocolate almond cake. The whole thing was only $80-something. The house is very cute, but the other diners were white-haired and all quite old (in other words, not a terribly hip place). But the food was great!! A cute place for a date and definitely some of the best food we've had in Santa Rosa.
(5)Kerry K.
I am so sad that I haven't been to this restuarant before! I have been in Santa Rosa for 16 years and never until now did I make it to Ca'Bianca! I have even read all the good reviews and just never kept it in mind. My Loss!!! The polenta was fantastic, the atmosphere warm and cozy and the staff very helpful. I will definitely be returning and taking my friends with me!

The setting is beautiful BUT the service is not always grand. Over the holiday a party of us eight went... they split the party at two different tables... got the wine wrong twice and two orders incorrect. The third wine we ordered they could not find (had not ordered it for stock). The food was cold as in frozen veggies and the pork was full of fat. The waiters were slacking in every area of responsibility - the place was not cozy and warm for a rainy night it was cold inside. We were shocked of the poor service and would not go back nor recommend it to anyone again. The place is not consistent in service or food. Also to top it off the patrons stood at the front door/porch smoking cigars and it drifted thru out the dining rooms - it was sickening - Very sad to have witnessed such unprofessional services all around. Most Sincerely DJ

I have eaten here once before for a Christmas party & based on that dining experience would have given it a 5. My husband is an Italian fan, as am I. I just try not to eat it because it's not calorie conscious & it's hard to find Italian that wows. This place does though...it WOWS! I am gluten free & dairy free. Usually I find that it can be difficult for me to eat out. Here this was NOT the case! In fact, there was almost too much for me to choose from! I was a very happy camper & look forward to going back. This time dining however warranted a 4 star from me. It was my husband's b-day, which I made note of when I made a reservation through Yelp. The convenience was great! When we arrived to the restaurant we weren't promptly greeted. We actually waited about 3 mins. Not too big of a deal. Then we were seated & asked if we wanted any wine other than the bottle we brought, before they even looked at the bottle. Again could be looked at as conscientiousness. Then our bottle was corked & we requested to let it breathe before pouring. Our waiter came back & took our order but never poured our wine, so we had to pour ourselves. I have no problems with that except I paid $15 for corkage. We then proceeded with our 5 star appetizer & meals. Our waiter then asked if we would like dessert. They never brought him a b-day dessert but did bring a dessert to the table behind us for their anniversary. I guess next time I'll call so they know because they apparently didn't read the reservation notes.

It is nice to see that some people still care about serving great food with great ambience! The restaurant is in an old house that is absolutely beautiful, the service was wonderful and the food was amazing and they make excellent homemade pasta. We asked for a wine recommendation which the waitress had the chef recommend, we were thinking this would be a pricey recommendation. The bottle of wine was only $40 and delicious! The meal was a wonderful experience and coupled with the service this is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time.
(4)Jessica J.
Everything was delicious, and the ambiance was beautiful. I recommend getting there early so you can have as private experience as possible. We had a ton of attention from the staff.
(4)Laura M.
To sum up my review this place us not worth the price. The ambiance was great, service was great, but the actual food was disappointing. The was something wrong with every course we had, which is really frustrating when you pay that much for a meal. We only went once and won't be back again.

I love this place, some of the best ravioli's and gnocci in the area, and they have lamb! wonderful succulant lamb. (can you tell I'm a fan?) The wine list is awesome, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the old house which you dine in, is amazing and tends to make me forget that I have dining companions, as I'm too busy looking around. Full bar, great port selection, and dessert is also to die for. yummers!
(4)Tim T.
I liked it. I like the atmosphere, the waiters, the food. I really enjoyed the half portions. That I could have a salad a half portion pasta and a glass of wine for $26.00. Go try it. I sat at the bar and was comfortable by myself.
(4)Tony J.
Took my wife here for a romantic dinner and it was awesome. Wife had the pasta dinner and i had the Lamb. Both dishes were cooked/tasted awesome. This old Victorian home converted to a Fine/Wine Italian Dinner house. Love the gardening around the place. We will be back for another date night.
(5)Laura B.
I recently took at week long road trip through northern CA and this was on of the best meals I had. The handmade pasta was fresh and the sauces weren't overbearing. In hindsight, a main appeal was that when my friend and I shared a salad, pasta and dessert, it wasn't an issue. The server split the salad the pasta into 2 portions. We went on a Friday night and the place seemed pretty empty, although we found that most places in this area shut down really early. The only down side is that while the meal was delicious, they don't have a lot of vegetarian options. Although, when we asked, they did offer a number of suggestions of meat pastas they could leave the meat out of.

Fantastic !!!! Great food and service!! My new favorite place in Sonoma County! Better than Scopa and Cucina Pariduso. Incredible atmosphere, as well.
(5)Jason M.
I held my wedding at Ca'Bianca and was so happy with the way everything worked out! The price, VERY affordable, AND on top of the great atmosphere and really great food... Karin went above and beyond the call of duty (in my opinion) and helped with a lot of the smaller details of the wedding as well. The only thing I would have changed was that the groom (me) did not get as much special treatment as the bride (champagne and snacks etc.) It's the groom's day too! In short... Getting married? I highly recommend Ca'Bianca!
(4)Brentley B.
Great food, capped off with incredible desserts at CA'Bianca. We had a good sized party of 6 (with a new born) and the staff was more than accommodating by placing us in a quiet corner. The owner kept coming to ensure everything was okay. We had a variety of appetizers (I sampled three or so of them and they were all good). We had a variety of the mains and everyone was well executed. The Pork roast that I had was fantastic with some sautéed broccolini on the side. After superb meal we topped it off with some dessert, every one of which were excellent. I had the puff pasty, apple and Ice Cream and I would go back just to have the dessert again. Cannot go wrong here.

Ca'Bianca is a beautiful restaurant. It's a converted Victorian and they've done a wonderful job keeping it looking lovely. The service is fast, helpful and friendly. There is a guy walking around with an accordion playing the Godfather soundtrack -- this is entertaining. The food is great. My raviolinis were perfect, and the gnocchi is about the best gnocchi I've ever had. So why the 1 star? It's simple. STYROFOAM. Sending me out with some left over raviolini and gnocchi with a STYROFOAM container ruined the experience. So, common Ca'Bianca -- get on the bandwagon and get rid of your styrofoam. UPDATE: My protest against styrofoam worked and I have been vindicated. Ca'Bianca has switched to something bio-degradable. Behold the power of the Internet!

From he first moment I saw this building from the street, I was enchanted. I was in Santa Rosa for a much-needed spa weekend with a friend. This lovely feeling continued as we walked through the beautiful garden on to the wide covered veranda, into the dining room with the handpainted frescoes which made me feel like I was back in Italy. We were warmly welcomed by Marco the owner, and shown immediately to our table. Things I like about Ca'Bianca: The drinks came FAST! The salad was delicately dressed (I really dislike overdressed salads) and as my friend and I shared the spinach salad, they split it on to two plates for us, ahhhh, thanks for doing that! The server was friendly, helpful and attentive, but not overbearing. The ravioli were perfecly cooked - a rarity in my opinion, as were the vegetables (I also really dislike mushy ravioli and vegetables). The only improvement I would suggest is that our food came out almost too quickly, not much time to breathe between courses, so I would adjust the timing a bit. We didn't feel at all rushed, but they were apparantly just very efficient. Also, I ordered fish which tasted delicious but should have been served a bit warmer than it was. I would not only definately return to Ca'Bianca, but would make this a destination. If I had any kind of special event/celebration looming in my future - a milestone birthday, reunion, rehearsal dinner, wedding, retirement party whatever - this would be a great place to go.

Ca'Bianca is a beautiful place! If you're looking to impress a date, or have a memorable night with friends and family - This is the place to visit! The ambiance of the restaurant is extremely memorable and beautiful! On the particular night I visited - I had a huge group of 20 which were accommodated to an impressive extent! The entire night was full of great food, wonderful drinks and...the best part....an amaaaaazing dessert, haha. Whether you sit on the patio or inside - you're sure to have a great time! This is probably not where you want to take somebody on a first date - but it's romantic atmosphere makes it an impressive date for somebody you have already gotten to know :D

Great food! Definitely a good place to take your wife for your anniversary or special occasion. Small intimate place and the prices were very reasonable.

Been coming here through the years and have done dinner meetings on occassion. Absolutely love everything about the place. Marco does a good job making sure the food is fresn and the wine selection updated. Today i had the lamb, which was done just right and perfectly seasoned. The ceasar with anchovies was authentic and with exrra anchovies, it's dynamite! To end the meal, a delicious vanilla and chocolate tiramisu. A bottle of Matra 03 cabernet accompanied our dinner and blended well with the symphony of flavors. Keep it up!
(4)Alex M.
Great ambiance and a good selection on the menu. However I found the food to be very salty. So much so, that I could not finish it.
(3)Joel K.
Food was delicious (Caesar to start, fettuccine bolognese for entree), and the staff was appropriately attentive. Not cloying, but not absent either. Portions were acceptable, but I would say the value proposition was a little low. Not glaringly. Actually, the wine list is good and seems to be well priced in terms of value. Sat outside on the porch, which is surrounded by lush greenery, almost hiding the parking lot and street in front - very nicely done! Overall, I'd definitely eat here again.
(4)MartÃn P.
Yet another wonderful meal. The food is excellently prepared, delicately flavored, and the service is great.

Found this place on Yelp, got our (oddly diverse) group of four to all agree it looked good, then stupidly forgot to call for a reservation. But it all worked out. They couldn't seat us in the restaurant, BUT the restaurant would've been way too noisy for us anyway, and instead we ate at their pleasantly quiet bar. It wasn't as pretty as the restaurant, but seriously, have you ever NOT gotten AWESOME service while eating at a bar? So, yeah, we got awesome service. And the food was pretty great, too. My polenta was the fluffiest I've ever had. (To be fair, that's only saying it was better than a college cafeteria's polenta, but it's the best I can say for sure!) My mixed greens salad was I guess a little simple but still very good. Other people in my group got beef braised in red wine (good mashed potatoes, okayish chard)... Oh, I don't remember what else, but everyone seemed to like their choice a lot. Good wine list, too, with plenty of good choices by the glass. Pretty grounds, cute outdoor seating. Would be great to sit out on the porch on a summer evening.

walking up to this restaurant i just knew i was going to have a spectacular meal, the entrance garden is just divine, the victorian home was welcoming. let me start out with the positive. the service was good, a little odd but consistent. i had a fresh salad but was really craving the pasta. they bring my pasta and it just looks unusual, here comes my guest's dishes, unusual too. the only way i can describe it is it had the same consistency of top ramen after sitting for an hour. water down pasta and sticky? hey, i thought this was home made! i can't put my finger on it but I'm not eating it and I don't. so we left and ate dinner some place else. they also brought us the wrong wine, it was good so i just let it go, paid the large bill. i would of appreciated a little awareness from the staff, it's just so strange to me that they acted like we just had the best meal ever, took our full plates, didn't ask once if we enjoyed our meals. dessert? no, thank you. i do recommend that the owner takes the whole staff especially the chefs to delfina so they can taste what exquisite fresh pasta tastes like. it would change their lives forever, i promise. that damn defina has ruined me in the most sublime way.

There is no question this restaurant is one of the finest italian restaurants in the Bay Area or anywhere. For those patrons who feel otherwise is strictly a matter of opinion. If rated on an objective scale of 1-10 or 5-stars this place rates highly. The polenta was fabulous, the service excellent and the ambiance and lighting perfect. Dont be swayed by the pretentiousness of other glitzier italian restaurants, if you want humble italian in a modest environment, at a good value, dine at CaBianca...you will be impressed.

I was really looking forward to going back to Ca' Bianca but I have to say I was disappointed this time around. First of all the service was lackluster at best. The wait staff barely talked to us and I couldn't really tell who our waiter was. The atmosphere was bland and joyless. Not sure what was going on with the lighting but there was both track lighting and the chandeliers on and it made the whole dining room shadowy, grey and cold feeling. The food was ok, but for 25+ I expected more. The side veggies were sad. And the creme brulee was not creme brulee. I really wanted to like it there but it was a disappointment this time :(

Visiting Sonoma County. Good option if in Santa Rosa.
(4)Bruce H.
Probably in the top five restaurants in the area, the White House as I call it has never disappointed. The ambience in this beautifully restored mansion is perfect for a romantic date or a business meeting with comfortable table spacing allowing quiet conversation. Waitstaff have been there for years and are very good at what they do. The wine list has a nice selection of Sonoma County and imported wines and, in my view, is very reasonably priced. The menu is not extensive but sufficient for almost any taste. My most recent meal was the lamb shank preceded by a caesar salad. The lamb was tender, moist and delicious and made all the better with a local pinot noir. I am not usually generous with my reviews but I highly recommend this location.

Our experience was definitely mediocre at best! First we tried to get drinks refilled for 20 minutes but our waiter was socializing with another table to the point we couldn't get help. When we received our meals all 3 of us were not happy with our selections. The steak I ordered came rare which i had ordered medium. I sat for a very long time trying to get our waiters attention to let him know. He was once again in deep conversation with someone and didn't notice. Finally another waiter noticed and came to assist. My fathers Pork Marsala was so gross I tried one bite and had to spit it out. When my steak came back I took 2 bites and could not eat anymore, it was so poor I lost my appetite. My husband had linguini and clams, it was edible but not very good. Our waiter never asked how our food was and never checked back with us. When he brought us the check, we very politely let him know our food was not up to par. His only response was, he would let the chef know and seemed put out. Needless to say our bill before tip was 214.00 for the 3 of us and none of us really touched our meal. Unfortunately we will not return.

I have been here 8 times. An aggregate of 20 dishes have been tried at this location (dinners). I like everything about this place, location, food, ambiance, service, very vibrant and positive experience at this location. The food items have been excellent. All together, I'd rate this restaurant 9/10, for it's price. Sea food items: 9/10 Pasta: 9/10 Desert: 7/10 (not the best I've had, but very fresh) Appetizers: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Experience: 10/10 Freshness: 10/10 The quality of the food is apparent, it's very fresh and delicious. I've always had a great experience here. I've only attended this place for dinners.
(5)Barb P.
We found this restaurant using Yelp. We were very impressed with the staff and the ambiance. For the appetizer portion we ordered the caprese salad and avocado salad. For the entrée we found the fettuccine bolognese and risotto to be outstanding. The portions are appropriate. The value of our dinner was well priced. We highly recommend Ca'Bianca. You desever it.

We came here for an early dinner on New Year's Eve with another couple. The restaurant was decorated very festive and there were balloons all over. We all appreciated that there was a prix fixe menu and an a la carte menu. I started with a nice dirty martini and my friend had a cosmopolitan. My husband and I ordered a casaer salad to split, which they split for us. Nice fresh crispy romaine and a good dressing. We removed the anchovies on top since neither of us care for them but we enjoyed the salad. My husband had the duck which also came with duck ravioli and he said it was very good. I had the ossobuco in a wine reduction sauce served with risotto and a few vegetables. The veal was very tender and the risotto swam in the sauce. It was a tasty dish. Our friends had fettuccini with chicken and shrimp and the salmon served with potatoes au gratin. They both thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. My dining companions all had a dessert, the consensus was that they were good but nothing outstanding. We left just about the time they were starting to get really busy. We had a pleasant dinner in a nice atmosphere.

We (party of 5) were there on a Sunday evening. Menu is very traditional Italian and food was quite good (I had special lobster bisque and seafood risotto). My wife's ravioli was quite good also, although they went a bit overboard on sauce with both butter / sage and tomato sauces on top of each other. Others had the linguine with pesto and chicken sauce. They had a decent selection of wines by the glass. We weren't doing much drinking so I didn't take a look at the rest of the wine list. Restaurant is located in beautiful old house and it was enjoyable just to look at the woodwork, molded plaster, etc. The apparent proprietors were friendly and knowledgeable but one aspect of the service, which was generally attentive, was a major annoyance: our waiter, a man in his late 20s or early 30s, insisted on touching my shoulder every time he was within range, which was frequently. I'm a paunchy, balding 64 year man and you can take my word for it that I'm easily resistible. Why he would imagine that a typical customer would want to be repeatedly touched by a stranger is beyond me.
(4)Honest H.
I remember now how good it feels to eat food so good that all the conversation at the table stops and I ask myself why haven't I been eating like this every time I go out to eat? The food and service are 5star plus the ambiance is very romantic. We had the duck with risotto, lamb shank and halibut entrees. The sides dishes were made with care and the whole meal was worth every penny. If you want to remember how good food can be-check Ca' Bianca. The only problem is, now I can't go back to mediocre food -this restaurant woke me up!
(5)Suzy C.
The classiest atmosphere in any Sonoma county restaurant! I am dying to go to their brunch so I can sit in their relatively new sun porch dining room! The food is good, but the setting and service are what really stand out here. The bar is truly gorgeous, and the whole place is an amazing Victorian house with decadent antique decor and architecture turned into a bar and restaurant. Have you heard?.. it's haunted!! :)
(5)Mia P.
Amazing food and ambiance in a historical Santa Rosa 1876 home. Go here. You will not be disappointed!
(5)Pamela S.
I'm really not sure why this Italian restaurant ranked so high; it must be the Victorian house it is in. I hadn't been here for many years and now I know why. It's very marginal. The portions are skimpy. The service is lousy and they don't know how to prepare seafood. Fish should not stick to your teeth. To top it off when I called to make a reservation I told them it was my husband's 50th birthday and they would put a candle in his dessert and sing happy birthday. Nothing. Other than the ambience this restaurant is not worth eating at. Will not go back. If you have ever been to Italy, LoCocco's in old railroad square is far superior!
(2)Laurie L.
It had been awhile since I had last been here. I took a friend this time for a birthday dinner. The garden is so stunning it's a must to wander around before going up the stairs to the front door. The service is still top notch, very friendly and helpfull. I like the full bar, not just wine and beer. My friend had the ravioli stuffed with butternut squash and I wanted pasta. I requested something off the menu and with the help of our waiter came up with homemade pasta, red sause with veggies and some chicken pieces. It was delicious. Both my friend and I were part of the clean plate club. Beautiful location inside and out, close to downtown, good food and friendly staff.

**3.5 STARS** S.O. and I came here after getting our packets from the Finley Center for Levi's Gran Fondo. It was a good thing I made a res since I heard the host say that the wait was 45 mins. The place was hard to find since it wasn't really well lit and if you're like us... new to the area... we passed it first and fortunately found the house/building. Ambiance: it has a old, classy feeling to it but in a laid back mode (if that made sense?) Service: prompt and friendly Food: decent for the price and portion. We ordered the following: - Polenta e funghi (Polenta topped with gorgonzola cheese, wild mushrooms, tomato and baked) = it came piping hot but really good. Cheesy and lots of mushroom... S.O. wasn't really impressed but I love mushrooms so I was good. - Petto di pollo ripieno (Breast of chicken stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella, wrapped in puff pastry and baked) = this was actually really good... but I lost my appetite after the polenta and the bread... so I ended up eating half of it. It's a fancier version of Costco's baked chicken and or chicken pot pie. - Lemon panna cota = it was ok... not really mind blowing... wasn't creamy and sweet enough for me. - chocolate mousse (forgot the technical term) = delicious! I loved how creamy and smooth the mousse was and it was really tasty. Overall... the goal was load up on carbs... mission accomplished. PS: decent wine list.

Charming place, attentive service, delicious food, quiet atmosphere. One of the things we like best about Ca Bianca is that we can enjoy each others' company without having to raise our voices. Some thought has gone into designing the place to create a peaceful restful experience for guests. After having lunch here a couple of times I am no longer willing to endure a noisy restaurant. I've gotten to be quite picky about that and Ca Bianca fills the bill. My favorite things on the menu: Salmone alla griglia $24 Grilled salmon served on potato gratin Petto di pollo ripieno $21 Breast of chicken stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella, wrapped in puff pastry and baked Good wine list with a range of price points. Just watch out, if there is a tour bus outside the place will be packed.

I was invited to my friend's birthday party there. She had reserved the private room upstairs to accommodate 10 girls! It was very convenient. We had so much fun dancing, opening the presents and of course enjoying the good food and dessert, without interrupting the other customers downstairs. I had parmigiana - very delicious. I would definitely come back.

They had me at first bite! This is dining at its best! The **butternut squash ravioli** . . . absolutely the best I've ever had! Usually, I can only eat 2-3 raviolis from this type of dish, because of the overall richness of it: brown butter sauce, filling, etc. Ca'Bianca's was amazingly perfect. I was skeptical at first, because the dish came with a type of red sauce (marinara?) in the middle. At first, I thought it was an odd combination: red sauce with brown butter sauce. But, they were a heavenly compliment to one another! I'm not a chef, but I say ingenious! The red sauce balanced the richness of the brown butter sauce perfectly. I ate the whole dish, and enjoyed every single bite. It doesn't stop there! My dining partners, each ordered burgers that came with what I believe the menu described as fries, but these lovely **fried potatoes** were too good to hold such a thankless title. There were only a few on each plate, but they tasted so good. Lucky for me, one of my companions was watching their fried food intake, and didn't eat theirs, so I was the lucky and happy recipient! I wish I had ordered a side of them to go for the long ride home. My companions said that both burgers were good and juicy. We also enjoyed the **calamari appetizer**. The calamari was tender and not oily. A few pieces of shrimp were mixed in, and I think a few pieces of sweet potato? The calamari itself was good, but the dipping sauce was just ok. The **service" was wonderful. Lorraine was very attentive and friendly. From an **aesthetic perspective** the entire restaurant (outside and interior) is absolutely beautiful! There's a lovely **private dining room** that is separated from the main dining hall with glass doors, and I thought it would make a wonderful location for a bridal shower brunch, or other special event. Too bad I don't live in the area. I would be a frequent patron if I did.

A wonderful meal (chicken breast wrapped in pastry was DELICIOUS!) in a beautiful setting with terrific service... this place is a real winner :)
(5)Derek B.
I had no idea what to expect when I drunkenly made my last minute reservation here after a day of extensive wine tasting. Driving up the place, I was instantly charmed by the historic house that the restaurant is within. The atmosphere is fantastic, but Ca Bianca does a good job of not relying solely on the atmosphere. After looking at the wine list, I was relieved to see that there were affordable options (in addition to more extravagant ones) that were satisfactory for someone with less affordable palate. We started with a caesar salad, that was served classically with the anchovy on top. You can't go wrong with class. And I was also happy it wasn't overly creamy. Next, we had the gnocchi that was very delightful, and ended with the rib-eye. We split everything, and they were very considerate to split everything into smaller, two plate portions without us asking. I usually find something small at a place to nit-pick about the service, but I was very impressive with the level of attentive that was conscious of not being borderline annoying. I came back to Ca Bianca about a week ago in a slightly more sober state to test whether or not my first enjoyable experience was just to booze talking. It wasn't. This is officially one of my new favorite places in the area.

Beautifal historic building, excellent service and an absolutely delicious menu! Highly recommend the duck or the lamb shank for a main dish. The gnocchi appetizer is a must and if they have the cheese soup, you have to try it! I would definitely come back when in the area again. Definitely.

We had a dinner there last Saturday evening after the Sonoma State graduation. There were 10 in our group including my young grand children. Our reservation was for 8pm and we were seated as soon as we walked in just before 8. Every adult in our group had the same comments about the entrees and salads- totally outstanding. The food and service were just outstanding. You know it was good when you are still talking about it the next day. Wine list is a little limited on California wines focusing more on Italian wines. But it is adequate and the prices are very reasonable. This is a great restaurant.

Completely charming setting, yummy delicious italian food, nice wine list and really good service. Definitely worth planning meal with them. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again. Next time it'll be to enjoy a leisurely lunch dining al fresco on the veranda.

Had a dinner for 15 people with the menu from the Chef The food and service were spectacular. Everyone was overwhelmed with the various tastes and the quality of the food. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was perfect We could not have had a better experience to commemorate a milestone birthday. Oh- and the wine was superb and the presentation was perfect

My husband and I were at Ca'Bianca last night to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. We enjoyed great service and incredibly delicious food. What a fabulous evening! We'll be back again and again.

We eat here semi-annually. Every time we have the food has been good. The ambiance is also very nice. My one issue is the portion size of certain dishes, others are fine.

This is a really unique restaurant. It is in a old mansion with a very cozy ambiance. . This is a great place to take someone for a special night. The service is excellent and so is the food. I had the Sea Bass with shrimp. It was excellent. I would definitely go back.

Seriously, this place has gone downhill. I had the most overcooked salmon ever and it was drowning in butter. That is the second time this has happened and my last dinner there.
